View Full Version : Question About Neriak Factions / Status / Etc.

I assume there will be, but I will ask anyway: Will there be status merchants for each faction? I only ask because at this time, I have only found one writ giver (Indigo Brotherhood), and I have yet to see a status merchant in any of the factions. And I was under the impression that this content will be released at the end of the month. Two weeks seems like a short period of time to create writs and five whole lines of unique status/faction items. (I'm also assuming that there will be five lines of unique status/faction items.)

Kelethin still has no interesting status items from the factions, they only have their titles (which are pretty repetitive).

I doubt it - and IMO that's the way it should be (in Kelethin's regard at least). Kelethin gives a lot more status per writ (as I assume Neriak does/will), so there needs to still be some inscentive to do other city writs than just Kelethin.

if they neglect creating writ givers and atleast some form of faction rewards ( titles I take for granted but maybe ceremonial armor too? ) I atleast will not move there, even if I never do a single writ I think every town should atleast be done before they release it and not have like on test freeport nobility from the city merchant, wich honestly cant be alot of work to fix. I would almost take for granted that the indigo botherhood, the dead and the ebon mask have their own writ givers and status merchants, the spurned might be the forth but their status didnt count for much in old neriak so Im not sure about that, maybe dread guard as they have a recruiter in the palace. even this close to release they should have considered these basic things that atleast I take for granted a long time ago and not think "OH [Removed for Content] WE FORGOT WRITS!" at this point and I sure hope its just a matter of not having put them in yet rather than just not caring to do so.

Heyya all!

I can understand your concerns and confusion on the subject, but writs were not forgotten. In fact, the 5 main subfactions of Neriak (Indigo Brotherhood, The Spurned, The Disciples of Innoruuk, The Ebon Mask, The Dead) each have their own writs to give. But I admit that they do not give them out the way that you have become accustomed. Prior, you have found that each subfaction house would give quests 1-70. But that is not the case in Neriak. As you continue to work through the writs, you learn more of each house, earn faction for Neriak and gain status. This brings you closer to Cristanos in all her grotesque glory!

Additionally, a guild status merchant has since been added in the Dockside Markets to reward you for turning in status items.

I hope that this helps to dispel some of your concerns.

~Kaitheel

EQ2 Associate Designer

Can only seem to get quests on Sscath from the Indigo brotherhood so this may support that idea. If this is the case i'll amend my writ sections for Neriak on my site.

So, this is how it's supposed to work?

Also, I would think Necro would get them from The Dead if it were going by class..

Which guild you get your quests from is level-dependent, not class-dependent. If you are level 10-20, you get them from The Indigo Brotherhood. 20-30 is from The Spurned. See this page at EQ2i.com for the complete line (as we get them!)

I have yet to see a place where I can buy city/faction-related titles. I'd love ot be able to get "Agent of the Ebon Mask" or something like that.

As a level 70 Shadow Knight i should be able to get writs from Darlight Palace. No joy. all i get is insults and death threats.

Thanks for that, was thinking about smacking a few of them around the ear to see if that helped.

As a 70 Assassin (Neriak citizen), I am currently being offered Level 40 quests by the Disciples of Innoruuk... I guess I have yet to grasp the new system (Edited out a mistake)

The eq2i link on the other page goes nowhere... hoping someone can answer this:Can you get more than one city task at a time in Neriak? it seems i'm only able to do one at a time, whereas with FP and Q i can pick up 4 at a time, one for each house. Needless to say it's tedious and inefficient to keep going back to Neriak for each writ... why such a penalty, or am I not understanding something - can I pick up 4 from the same house, since it goes house-by-house on a level basis? What a weird and un-intuitive faction system...

I have always found that you get one at a time. Neriak's faction quests are linear. You progress through each archetype because there is only one faction in Neriak as opposed to four in other cities. And this thread is well more than a year old.* re-buries the dead *
