Hey ya! Thanks for working on musical instuments for us RPers! However...

I've asked about the instruments in another thread, but thought this point was important enough to get it's own thread, just to make sure that the message wasn't lost in the other one amongst the other points and ideas.

I know Woodworkers aren't the only tradeskill profession with notoriously few recipes per level, and certainly aren't the one with the fewest, to hear others in the Crafting channel talk, but as Woodworkers originally had (useless) recipes for musical instruments, it would be fitting if they were returned to them, producing these nifty functional items, in lue of merely being purchased on an npc vendor. It'd be really great if you could please explore what needs to be done towards making this a reality. (I'm imagining a full set for each tier, each successive tier's set being able to play more and more elaborate music, or something along those lines depending on how you intend them to work.)

In addition to this, I'd like to point out that it'd be really nice for all bards to be able to use these in a manner beyond what everyone else can do with them. Whether that means stat buffs, increased casting speed, or merely being able to play better, more elaborate music than everyone else is up to you. Just give them something. They are, after all, the bards.

I'd say that musical instruments are so worth doing right after all this time of waiting for them that players would happily wait a little while longer for them to be truely worthwhile and fleshed out. No need to rush this just to throw them in with the new content later this month.

Thanks for reading. : )

I have to agree. I don't know what the devs' intentions are for instruments, but I'd really like to see them made by Woodworkers (and I don't even have a Woodworker) and have some extra benefit to bards. But to the OP: the rules say the devs won't pay attention to threads that specifically address them, so maybe you could change the title so this thread won't get locked or ignored?

A related question. My woodworker is a Bard so I crafted all three instruments. All three are sitting in my bank. Will they work the same as the ones sold by the vendors?

What I would give to have Selo's Drum (fabled) to increase my dirge's runspeed... muahaha.

I agree with the OP:

1) Let Woodworkers make Instruments ... at least better than the vendor stuff in some way.

2) Let Bards benefit from Instruments somehow (i.e. make them have a charm/fear type thing that forces a 2 second dance).

3) Let Bards play the instruments better somehow (longer, more tunes, forced dancing, etc.).
