Evil Fae?

My friend and I are thinking of picking up EQ 2 (we both played EQ 1 for years and are sick of WOW), however he wants to play a necro and I really like a Fae Dirge (something about stealthing w/ wings, badass). As you can see, we're at an impass. There aren't good necros and Fae can't be evil (even if dirges can). Is it possible to betray to freeport as a Fae? If so, how would this be done?

Talk to Saelir Varryn in Kelethin at 224, 112, 407 (type /waypoint 224, 112, 407 or just ask a guard where he is) to start the quest line. It will eventually make you an exile, and you will be teleported to Haven. Exit Haven at the Thundering Steppes and head to Antonica, and outside the North Qeynos gate (Keep your distance. The guards will be agro.) is a Dark Elf standing by a tree (can't remember his name) who will give you quests that can build up your faction with Freeport.

Please keep in mind that in order to start ANY betrayal quest, you <b>must</b> be at least level 10.

and dont forget, if you betray to fp, all your spells will be set to app1 regardless of their former spellevel.

<p>So betray early on, rather than wait. Your freind will be able to help you with the quest once you get out of Kelethin.</p><p>As a side note, You can't quite get black wings as a Fae. But, you can get close. Black and red are a favorite though hard to achieve. I like black with blue highlights.</p>

Also, in the upcoming game update, Freeport is getting a new race and city.  The race is called the Arasai and they are, in fact, evil fae with slightly different graphics and options to make them look more wicked.  The game update is supposed to be coming out by the end of the month, so keep that in mind if you don't want to mess with betrayal.

<p>Betraying to Freeport as a Fae is pretty easy.  The initial quest is decently short, and if you do the right quest it can be done relatively quickly, especially with help.  Also the quests scale with your level, so its decent exp as well.  It only took me two nights of playing to go from Kelethin to Freeport, and I got 3 levels in the process.</p><p> By far the most difficult and time consuming part is getting from Haven to the quest giver, and from the quest giver to your chosen destination.. especially since the most rewarding quests (the ones that give you +5000 rep with your chosen city) require you to actually go inside the city proper.</p>
