Hi, I'm looking for any strategies or guidance as to 'How' to beat Abz'harri the Djinn Lord at the end of the carpet quest. Seems his nuke is so bad that he lays waste to the group (including the tank) very quickly. The tank (me) is level 55 at the moment, and the jini is 57(maybe 5 ^^^ and his two pets, fist and hand (I think they are called) really put the whooping on us. Do we simply need to wait till were 57 then try? or is there a good strategy to beat this guy and his pets down?

But.. I have seen it done with 57-60 tanks, in a single group.. it helps if you can mezz the adds or mez him and deal with the adds.. but they do hit hard.. I would recommend definatley looking at the mezzing option if you are going to do it below the genies level

We did it two ways when DOF first came out.

One involved mezzing his hands (the two adds) and taking him out.

The second involved one of the people with the quest spawning him, letting themselves be killed while the rest of the group (with a good portion of DPS) stayed out of range and did nothing (preventing aggro on themselves). Then, the sacrificed person was rezzed, rebuffed, and then the group prepared themselves...Templar would cast Sanctuary to make the group immune to AOE and then the DPS would burn the djinn down as fast as they could.

When the djinn dies, his adds die automatically, so it is best to focus on him. If you can kill him fast enough, his adds don't get a chance to do much damage.

We had a heck of a time doing this as well until a guildee informed us of the best strat: Mezz the adds Stifle the Djinn Lord and burn him down After we did that he was dead in like 15 secs. No need for fancy grouping strats or sacrifices.

The OP may not know it, but you have it easier than it used to be. Originally the adds where level 62. Mind you, at the time the level cap was 60.

yup knew it was originally harder..its still pretty hard though. Great information didn't know his pets will die when he dies. Also liked the idea about mez, stifle, and of course templar anti-aoe buff. lots of idea, thanks.

Also remember his AoE is full frontal. So turning him away from group in the beginning is critical to success. Once the AoE is away from the squisshie group mates they can keep the tank alive through the AoE blasts and you are good to go.

Just a thought.
