Good luck trying to find one, they drop like twice a year lol..and if you do happen to find one on the broker its always priced for an obscene amount of plat (150+ on my server anyway). Technicially any mob in their low 60s has a chance to drop it.

Is the nightshade worth mastering? From what I have read, and parsed it seems as if the mage pet completely rocks over the scout pet in both single and multiple target situations. Mostly anecdotal though, I would love to see some concrete numbers and discussion on which pet to utilize. Even in raids I dont have much of a problem with my mage pet and aoe's as long as I can stand at the edge of spellcasting range from the mob.

mage is better than scout so i wouldn't pay the huge price for it. i have the nightshade master just because i wanted full masters though i never use it.

Consumption on mage pet is worthless, but on a scout pet, will add another 550ish+ dmg in heals per pet swing while LB is going. And if u can time it quite often with jesters and cast every 2 and a half mins....then I would definately say scout is better than mage for singles.

Bizerk

With arcane minion (14.4% spell haste) it casts pretty fast and because our offensive stance is +disruption it doesn't miss much, unlike the nightshade (which consumption only procs off his primary hand anyway). On an AOE encounter, consumption procs off each of the mobs the AOE hit and because of the mage has 3 AOE's, this equates to high damage.

You can also throw in the fact that on a spell resist, the refresh rate of the spell is reduced to 2 seconds. On a CA miss, the refresh of the CA is normal and the nightshade has long refresh rates.

On mobs which don't cast AOE's, the mage pet can melee which equates to more consumption procs if his spells are down.

The mage pet also has a group heal HOT and a lifetap that you split between the mage that heals for 200+ if you're concerned about healing yourself during LB.

There is no way that Consumption is more effective for the nightshade than the mage pet.

Dants, 70 necro, Ex-Impulse

Swore it used to only say on successful attack and not successful attack or spell cast. So yeah, other than prbly being better in pvp I'll agree its better for mage pet.

Bizerk

I'll agree, the wording of the spell sucks and you can definately get the wrong impression that it would not proc off spells.

Dants, 70 necro, Ex-Impulse

I have been farming poets for 8 months now and it still has not dropped. I have not even had a level 60 master drop, just 50ish to 59 and thats when a master chest actually drops.

There are like 5 necros on Unrest looking for this. Someone has it on the broker for 300p. Good luck! LOL!

On Befallen it never pops onto the broker for anything less than 100 plat in my experience. That is just nutty, there is no spell in our arsenal that is worth that much. Especially if you have the Adept III. It's just not that much of an upgrade to justify that expense, IMO.

I want it simply for the fact that the M1 looks better than the AD3 pet

I'll give Gazer Isle a shot...

anything that is lvl 60 on that island has the chance, but ive spent many of hours there seeking the ultra rare master. It is absolutly rediculous how rare this is and how much it goes for on the broker.

I been on these boards seeking info on where this master has dropped and like the 10 people on my server who have it i asked them where they got it most of them said they bought it , but the ones who actually got it on a drop said they camped gazer island for 4-5 hours a day killing those eyes for months, and the others said they got it in BSS instance in bonemire.

I have been doing all those suggestions for the last 6 months and nothing for me.

but i keep hoping.

Just a note: If you are lucky enough to assemble 6 of the EOF necro set armor pieces, the proc for the scout pet is crazy. No M1 warlock pet can compete and the EOF set doesnt apply to warlock pets since its melee only.

For single targets mostly. On raids, the warlock pet still rules. I dropped an average of 200 DPS on a scout line respec from warlock. Not to mention the end skill for the scout is almost useless unless you are really that impatient as to not wait for him to run over. However, the power/health regen of the warlock is much more effective.

And Consumption works much better on the warlock, have tried it on both pets - warlock wins out.

I thought consumption proc'd on attacks, whether magical or melee. Since the scout pet has 59% haste and is duel wielded, I figured the scout would trigger it quite a bit more.

Didnt mean to hijack your Nightshade rare master problem thread. I realize I have my own one going. It's just that this response needed some clarifying for me. Thanks!
