View Full Version : Best Adornments for PvP

So I am struggling with a decision...

There are some great Restorative wrist adornments that have a chance to proc on succuessful parry, dodge, riposte etc.

As I solo in PvP most of the time, I have really been working on a well balanced toon. I decided to Master2 my parry buff, something I am pretty sure most wouldnt do, but it adds 24 to my Parry, and buffed, I have a 43% avoidance at present.

What I am battling with, is the usefullness of these adornments... so if I understand it correctly ...

Say I have a 15% chance to parry an attack, so every 7 or so attacks, I would theoretically parry an attack. With the Adornment, I then, on that 7th parried attack, have a 6% chance for it to proc the heal.

So if my math is correct, divide by... the square root of... carry the two.. comes out to be a VERY small number... is this adornment even worth it? Why the hell is it fabled if this is the case?

I do not dual wield, as I use a shield and 1h, I find it better for PvP.. and I have AA points into double attack and extra block chance..

Should I adorn my 1h with the dmg dealing adornments, or go for the +3 parry to assist with the proc of the above adornments?

What adornments do you have and why?

Percentages are tricky. A 15% proc rate, means exactly that, for every single instance, you have a 15% chance. This could mean you could proc every time, with some RNG luck, or every 7 times, to give your example, or you could have a string of no luck, if the RNG keeps tripping on 84........

Dunno about the % numbers, but I will say this...don't let them fool you. It may seem small, but things in this game tend to proc a lot more often than the % would seem to indicate. Things with 10%, 15%, 20% proc rates seem to proc all the time sometimes.

Don't bother doing all kinds of math & calculating proc rates & all that mess...in practice it usually won't work out that way anyway.

Thats the thing! This proc replys on another "percentage chance" before it even has a chance.....

Its like rolling a D6 die. Every time you get a 6, you have a chance to roll another D6 and hopefully then you get a 6 for that item to proc... u see what Im saying?

Is this the way this "fabled" adornment works?

killque ; i'd add the mitigation bonus to your wrist slots, and put the block-heal-proc adorn on your shield. If you really go sword and board with an aa line to double block, you'll get a hell of a lot more milage outta a shield heal adorn. Use writs to help you improve that mitigation.. cuz you ain't no tank

But why not have all three? On my guardian I have, the shield heal proc, and both wrists, one triggers on parry other on dodge.

No thats Riposte isnt it? I dont remember, but I do know I do not have the one I cannot do.

What is the MIT adornment for the wrists, and who makes em? Some adornments are not availiable at T2...

The Mit ones are for Forearms and not wrists.

The heal ones above are the ones that attach to the jewlery wrist items.
