If you are refering to the 2 quests, I have done them both:

1. The last year's quest works just fine. Nothing has changed in it, so it went quick and smooth.

2. The new quest worked ffine and completed fine. I think the clues might be a little better though, had someone not told me how to find the things I was looking for, I would have gone away mad. I guess I just missed the whole 'You won't see it unless your drunk' explanation. Otherwise the quest completed just fine.

The only issue I had (besides the thing in #2) is that clicking the little ring outside NQ was very hard. Would it be possible to expand the click area? It was hard when sober, but near impossible when drunk (to finish the quest).

I love events like this. Wish there was more to it, but I can live with small events and large events. A tag game where you had to collect stiens would have been amusing, especially if you had to be drunk while doing it.

In a *perfect* world, there'd be a grab'n'go game that had options: Either you run it at a 15% speed reduction, or you run it at a 3% speed reduction while also drunk... give players a choice of handicap that won't actually make the person at the keyboard feel prematurely hung over.

Make sure that you have seperate zones for the pvp server. Last brew day and frostfell were literally total bust, nothing could be done because everyone was killing each other. We have pvp every where else we don't need it during holiday events.

Logged on to try these today.

Comments:

Seemed to me to be harder to click the portal to enter the bar than it was before ... you had to target a tiny point on the edge. Could it be made more like the druid portals, with a much bigger area clickable?

Getting Jimmy drunk seemed harder this year than I remember from last year, but Rasel Alechaser's quest from last year was otherwise just the same. I'd like to see the descriptions of the steins changed slightly though, as it basically comes down to guess work between the simple stein and the wooden stein since both match the hint he gives you.

The new quest, however, is very frustrating. I don't think I'm particularly dense but I spent probably an hour running around various zones with horribly blurring drunk vision and in the end all I managed to find was the one in Thundering Steppes.

The hints were very vague and these zones are VERY large to run around in, particularly when you're seeing double. I ran around the druid ring, the areas that are called the north and south crossroads savannah, and the areas around the griffon towers, but didn't see anything. A creature that follows others like it -- elephants? Griffons? Packs of dogs? Rama'nai's cat pack? Vulriches? I couldn't find anything that looked unusual anywhere I looked. In the Feerrott I was expecting to find something on the beach or just inside the beach path, but I ran all over those areas and didn't find anything other than the usual mobs. In Enchanted Lands I didn't even have a clue. What goes with corned beef? Maybe that's an American thing, personally I've never even seen corned beef on a menu in my life that I can recall, I have no idea what an American would think goes with it, though I'm guessing probably not Vegemite. I ran around the granary thinking maybe it was something to do with bread or grain but couldn't find anything in there.

By the time I'd been running around for all this time with my screen blurring, trying to guess what the clues meant and trying to see anything unusual looking through the wavering images, not only was I feeling somewhat frustrated, I was starting to feel physically ill.

If you have to be drunk to see these items, then I definitely think the clues need to be much clearer and need to point to a specific location within a zone in an unmistakable manner, so that you can at least just go to that area, drink, and get the item without having to run around getting motion sick from the drunk effect. I wouldn't mind running around a lot looking for things if I didn't have to be drunk; and I wouldn't mind being drunk if I didn't have to spend ages running around looking for things. But the combination of the two is not fun, and also rather sick-inducing. I've given up on the quest for tonight as I'd like to be able to eat dinner and keep it down.

Is the Keg item still around? I was really hoping to have the Keg house item as a reward this time around. Never got it last timeI missed it last time.

Yes, the reward was Keg of the Everlasting for the same quest that rewarded it last time.

And yes, I could go and look up quest spoilers in the Quests forum, but what's the fun in that? If there's no chance in figuring it out yourself, then my feedback is that the quest needs to be clearer. True, when it goes live most people will head straight for a spoiler site and look it all up, but those who actually like trying to figure quests out themselves should be able to do so without becoming violently ill. :p

Many Americans and folks of Irish descent all over the planet probably think first of "Corned Beef and Cabbage" as a common and traditional meal on St. Patrick's Day. I think that's the real-world holiday which inspired Brew Day RHo.

It only looks like your graphics settings are turned down. This will allow you to do the quests (loot the items while drunk) without getting sick irl.

The thing is, with this new quest, you have to generally think about real world symbols associated with drunkneness (some more obscure than others).

The idioms required are very Irish/NA oriented, so I can see other cultures really getting confused on them. But, as Aela mentions, the gnome gives some pretty detailed information if you ask for more details. I believe, in the corned beef scenario, he goes so far as to tell you the exact zone!

Then, keep in mind, all these quests are completable by pretty low leveled characters. Nothing in it will take you anywhere a level 15-ish shouldn't be generally safe.

Just remember to hold off hitting the bottle until you need to pickup the quest item... drunk and bleary eyed is no way to wander the world... unless you're into that sort of thing!

Here's what I came up with from my testing. EQ2 Brell Day 2007 Testing and Feedback: Most of these have probably been reported and suggested already and you'll have to assign your own severity and urgency level to each issue since I didn't get a TPS report. SPOILERS BELOW (So don't read if you don't want to be spoiled!) --The active mouse area for the portal for the Bar of Brell is below and behind where the actual portal appears. --If your Particle Quality is Minimal or Average and the Maximum Particle Size slider is all the way off (to the left) in your options the portal does not appear. Brell's Everlasting Brew: --It would be nice if Prew Drowers would turn to you and do a /shakefist or /scold emote when you try to take his hops instead of just standing there talking. --Getting the barley from Jimmy Runner was my last component to get. The Current Zone said Brell's Bar: Private Lounge which looks correct but the zone doesn't go to the top of my quest list and turn orange when I have them sorted by Current zone. Possibly a zone ID mismatch. --Same for the next step-- I need to take the components to Rasel Alechaser in Brell's Bar. The map says Bar of Brell but the Current zone says Brell's Bar. --Same for the last step-- I need to give the Stein to Rasel. Snoogle's Presentation: --Snoogle's Special Flask should have a "Use" or "Drink" default right-click option. Currently when you examine it you drink from it. Scrying stones work like this but generally most activatable objects have a "Use" option. --The mechanics of seeing and picking up the objects is not entirely clear. Snoogle first says, "Yes yes, and if you drink from it, you will be able to see the objects of great power," but later clarifies with, "But let me tell you a secret, these things you are after, sometimes you can see them, but without a sip from the flask you will not have the courage to grab them." The instructions in the quest journal say, "Apparently they only show up on Brew Day, and only if intoxicated." which corresponds to Snoogle's first instructions but is not correct. The journal instructions should say you need to drink from the flask to pick up the objects. --The visual effect of being drunk lasts much longer than necessary and longer than the time the objects are harvestable. The objects are harvestable for about two minutes but my character was "Very Drunk", "Drunk", "Inebriated", and then "Tipsy" for about 10 minutes. I would suggest that the harvestable time be equal to the visual effect time and the visual effect time could be shortened. Otherwise, you could run around with drunk, blurry vision and not see the objects because the two minute harvesting timer had run out and the objects are too small to be noticable. --The visual effect of being drunk is cancelled by being killed but the harvesting ability is still available (for the normal two minutes.) To stop the blurry vision in the Feerrott I just killed myself and only after that was I able to see the lizard toy. Its name was still visable and it was harvestable even with clear vision after being killed. --The cabbage talks and it's much easier to find him because of that. I would suggest that the pig should oink and the others should make some kind of noise. The lizard could jump or run around since Snoogle originaly said that "it ran away too fast for me to gather." --After gathering the items the quest step says to take them to Snoogle. The Current zone is listed as Unknown where it should say Bar of Brell. --This may be intended but you can skill-up your Alcohol Tolerance as much as you want by using Snoogle's Special Flask. --Precisely when you return Snoogle's Special Flask to him he says, "What helping me? None of this has to do with my presentation. Give me back my flask." At this moment the book above his head disappears and if you escape out of the conversation he acts as if you've never talked to him before. In the journal the quest is still active but he starts his coversation again from, "Well hello there!" - "Hi." etc. Othesus - Dirge - Lucan DLere Vaspar - Fury - Lucan DLere

I found both of the quests were quite easy, once I actually got into the Brell's Tavern. The only two issues I had with either quest were ...

A. I had to click all over the bloody entrance ring ... I probably right-clicked it 10 times, at least, in various spots all over it, before I finally was able to get it to activate.

B. Similarly, when dealing with the Cow, I had to right-click numerous times before it would activate. A guildie of mine had the same issue.

Aside from that, the two quests were an amusing little diversion, & I very much like the appearance of the two kegs.
