It seems grossly unfair on evil characters (I have absolute now wish to do a quest line that offer no benefit other than a language that good characters can buy for 12s)

to

a) not be able to buy the language

b) not able to get knowledge of past quest without doing all peacock line of quest ( and assuming you have DOF expansion)...

Solutions

1) put a new quest line in to get language primer in the EOF expansion.

2) alter existing quest line so guardian will give it you

3) allow languages to be sold evil/good charaters ( its not exactly the dragon language is it... )

Please feel free to add

umm, duh?

Would it not be simple just to create a good toon in Qeynos and buy the book and send it to yourself? Or, have a friend buy it for you.

Cant do it like that. You dont buy a actual book, you just buy the language. There is a quest from the Pris 2 or Pris 3 line (I forget) that will teach you the necessary lang tho.

I'm glad they (eventually) put a BROKER for evil characters in EoF but there is still a lot of little luxuries that goodies have there. And some big ones. I know a lot of people who talk in their racial language for fun and that's been totally ruined for evil characters now that everyone on the "other side" can understand them at the cost of a whopping 12 silver. I suppose they could make it "fair" by turning the language primers into tradeable items, but I'd much rather they be removed entirely as it really defeats the purpose of having racial languages at all if you can buy every one for one and a half gold pieces.

Wait, can evil characters buy from the merchants in Kelethin? If so, then option 4:

BUY THE LANGUAGE PRIMER FROM KELETHIN. They already sell all the evil primers in Kelethin for the goods anyway.

Oh... sorry I suggested it in such a hostile way like that then.

I'd urge patience on this - it's only the first chapter and you're going to hit a dead end regardless. Fact is that for now there is a path that has been identified, albeit a non-equitable one, but you can either bite the bullet and just do it or submit a lot of /feedback on the matter.

Personally, I just might go through Peacock anyways - but I want to mentor for it because I could use the AA.

I rather to turn language primers into ones that drops off mobs to learn language that is good for everyone and fair just like L&L is good for everyone. OR just practice any languages just like EQ1 did by spamming heh.

Heck, something would be more interesting and MORE fun than just buying languages. Design a neutral language school somewhere maybe in Majdul or any neutral city where anybody can attend to do a decent quest or few quests per language to complete and learn the language. I wanted to see that the learning of new language would be more meaningful and require some work than simple buying primers..

Of course it'll never happen, cause joe blow wants to be an ogre wizard who's fluent in Froglok tongue at the touch of a button.

This is especially bad if you've already invested a lot of plat and time into acquiring Adept III's and Masters, a process that can take several weeks or more depending on what resources you have and your luck.

Peacock Series: Takes some time, yes, but can done through the course of a weekend or a week. Still a fair amount of time invested, but at least you keep your spells and combat arts.

Yeah, I think it's a no-brainer here which is the better alternative...for now.

I have done the previous Prismatic, Godking, and Claymore quests, and have finished this first part of this one, but it is definately out of whack to evils.

It is stupid to even have a language needed to advance the quest if that langauge can be bought for 12sp.

Just do away with the need for the language primer in general.

If both sides needed to do a quest in order to advance this quest that would be one thing, but when the majority of people can simply buy a 12sp primer, it is just not well thought out.

Not 100% sure but doesn't the NPC just outside New Tunaria offer the language quest?
