I seen both links and actual pictures so my question is how do I post a picture in a forum thread? Do I have to send it to photobucket or something like that first or do I copy and paste somehow?

Thanks in advance!

Yes; you've got the jist of it.

First, you have to upload your image to a webserver somewhere, whether it's PhotoBucket (or another image host) or your own website.

Then, when creating a post, you can insert an image one of two ways:

1. Click the little picture of a tree in the button section above where you type your text. A dialog window will open, then you can paste your image URL (just the URL, beginning with "http://&quot into the field. Click "Insert," and you'll return to your post and your image will appear.

...or...

2. On your website, right-click on the image you want to use and click "Copy" in the context menu that pops up. Back here in the post window, right-click and choose "Paste," or just place your cursor where you want your image to appear and press Ctrl+V.

Just make sure you're only doing this with images that belong to you, from a website or a hosting account that belongs to you. Nobody wants to be branded a bandwidth thief!

Huh,

See what above I get when I try and post an image . I uploaded the image to my guild website and tried to link it from there. I get "no remote linking" . The url I am trying to use is

http://www.axiomfiles.com/Files/152...raha-weapon.jpg

If you look at my signature it has the same problem

Can anyone advise please?

It's much more likely that Axiomfiles has disallowed hotlinking. I have something similar set up for my EQ2 Graphics website for repeat offenders. It's really easy to do, and only takes a minute.

When I try to go to the Axiomfiles home page, I get this:

The website declined to show this webpage. HTTP 403

Most likely causes:

This website requires you to log in.

So yes, it's not SOE...it's the other site. SOE's not "logged in," and it's a remote system, so Axiomfiles is blocking it.

Looks like you're not using the Photobucket URL; this is what I see in your message HTML:

That's the file path to an image on your computer's hard drive, not to an image hosted on a remote website.

The URL you paste into the Insert Image popup window should look more like this:http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/...ight_target.jpg

When I copy & paste that URL into the Insert Image window, this is what happens:

Hope this helps!
