The Gameplay Discussion Forum has always been a bit messy. The problem, in my opinion, is that the intent of that forum, a catch-all for other gameplay issues that does not have a specific forum dedicated for it, conflicts with how some in the community like to function. Some people like having several, focused forums while others like the more general approach. Being one or the other is more a matter of personality and not something that is right or wrong. The problem is we have both focused and general forums and the generalist style posters resist the focused forums. We end up with lots of duplication and that is what a lot of the moved posts and such appear to be trying to address. I don't think there is an easy solution. Even on the Gameplay Discussion forum, I see several posts being locked about the Station Access price increase and I have to wonder whether new people posting about what is essentially a billing/account issue on a gamplay forum even bothered to skim the forum for similar posts before starting a new thread. As this appears to be a "human behavior" issue, I am not sure there is a way to fix it though maybe there are different/better ways to moderate it. Merging similar threads together and/or maybe automatically sending the thread originator a PM when their thread is moved might help reduce some of the clutter we end up seeing. This would require some forum software development, however.

If forums were narrowed down further that would cause more and more to be lumped in the gameplay forums. Theres already a wide variety of posts there taht can be difficult to wade though. I think this is why they originally opted not to have a gameplay forum. In all honestly it's the reason I can't stand the SWG forums. Evrything is posted in gameplay. The problem has compounded itself and theres posts in such high volume - it is just nutty.

The original poster here appears to have decided to drop the discussion so I am going to go ahead and close this thread.
