I did a search for "search tool broken" and got this: Search Results: 43123 topics were found no kidding.

I agree. What this new forum needs is:

1) Search for "exact phrase" within title or body of thread.

2) A "My Forums" link to monitor all your posts.

as a web dev. all I can say is the SOE forums upgrade ended up to be a downgrade.

at least it's prettier?

I'm still trying to figure out what this has to do with "Quests and Live Events." Did I miss something?

The forums are so sorta kinda messed up that you are seeing "Quest and Live Events" it clearly appears to be in the Class Discussion > Templar section on my screen.

This post has been moved to the forum discussion forum, as it had nothing to do with quests and live events. While I appreciate your frustration, we all know there are still some issues with the new forums to be worked out. The forum development team is hard at work on these, so we all need to be patient. If you have issues, the best thing to do is post the details of the bug or what features you would like to see added, in a constructive and courteous manner, so we can ensure the forum team is aware of it. Posts saying things like "it sucks, you screwed up" do not give any information about what needs to be fixed, and are not constructive. Furthermore, insults and profanity (even misspelled) are not appropriate for any reason. Forum rules of conduct: "In general, you may post any material written in a courteous and mature manner, providing that it is on-topic for the forum to which you are posting. This includes material that disagrees with the way that we, the developers, operate the game. We will not interfere with the communication of thoughts and ideas as long as the presentation is constructive and appropriate for all those capable of reading the forum. " Please click the link below my signature to refresh your memory on the full forum rules of conduct. Thanks for your understanding.

In fairness whenever theres a forum changeover there are issues but it does seem to be taking them a long time to sort them out.

Maybe it would have been best to sort the Vanguard forum out (first place i saw the new forums) and when they'd been ironed out then change all the other forums over.

Justa thought anyways.

When your dealing with databases and modifying code to add new features. You're really not going to know fully how it will go on in a live environment.

Honestly did you pay someone actual money to have them design and implement these forums. They are slow to access (on 12mbps connection at home and uber university (hardwired to own isp no less) connection) they are difficult and unwieldly to edit, they are almost impossible to search on for information, they are full of graphical bugs and they are slow to post on.

Grats whoever designed this - obviously soe must put a lot of thought into the people that they employ.

I agree this forum software package is a downgrade from what we had before. I really miss the followed threads and being able to put the to the top.. and where the heck have the signatures gone? I cant see any and havent found a place to turn the on/off.

Chill out people... they can add new features, since SOE made it they can recode it. Lithium had code premade for them, but they had to do this from square one. The search fixes should be in soon enough.
