Hi guys,

just wanted your opinion: Do you think Risk vs. Reward in Nizara is ok ?

I mean, there's surely some really good loot in it... if it drops..

Otherwise you'll stay in there for at least 4 hours, a repair bill like you were on a big fat Raid but without the big fat loot.

Was in there last week (long time no see), 2 runs, 2 times ~8 wooden Chests from nameds and one legendary from the Boss...

Yeah, right. And in that one Master Chest was the "Staff of Directions". Acadechism has better Loot.

Could we go a little bit up there ? I remember in the first few weeks, nameds dropped at least legendary, because, you know, risk vs reward...

That was one hell of a zone, but even if i like it so much, every other zone has better loot (even KoS Instances), not talking about EoF Instances...

Regards, Theriatis.

If you play well in nziara, you can finish the whole zone within 2hrs.

The same criticism can be levelled at Castle Mistmoore - which is probably a little harder than Nizara, and also drops wood chests a lot.

It's particularly bad when it comes to M1 drops; the drop rate seems exactly the same (or worse) than from the soloable nameds in Mistmoore Catacombs. Put simply, unless you're one of the handful of classes that struggles to solo a green ^^^, soloing is a much more reliable and faster source of masters and pp than any kind of group.

That said, these zones do drop the best legendary items in the game. And it's reasonable to expect players to kill a mob 5 or so times to get it. I think though that M1 drops should be reduced on the soloable stuff and increased substantially with heroics that actually require a group.

This game has to many places where masters etc have way way to high of a drop rate. Nizara is the one WELL designed zone that requires a decent group and has a decent drop rate.

THE FINAL NAMED IS GARANTEED LEGENDARY EACH TIME. It usually has 2 items just in that chest. Then the zone has 9 more chances to obtain loot off named generally one of those named drops another legendary chest. THEN after all that you get the normal master chances off these mobs PLUS the trash has a chance to drop one of the best resisst earrings in game. Sorry your complaint holds no water.

Imho all top tier zones should be designed like nizara w multiple strategic named encounters w a low chance at loot w a very difficult final named w garanteed legendary. Crap like OOB and Valdoons can basically be dou'd by some people. Provide little challenge and at least for me no replay value. because 3 trips in those zones and i have seen every piece of loot drop.

The reward to completing Nizara is to be one of the few players who can make the claim. Bragging rights. And maybe a couple masters.

I run this zone with one healer and no crowd control in under 2 hours fairly often. Have to use a god ability or two on the final boss sometimes, otherwise no problems. The only problem with Nizara is the rarity of some items. We've run the zone maybe 30-40 times and seen the Stone of Nizara twice, and the Sash of Draining (wrist item) 0 times. We run the zone entirely to see those two items drop for our casters, and yet they don't appear often, or at all. Don't really care about masters, but there is a lot of -trash- in the loot tables from awful 2h staffs to terrible plate helmets. The good items, from stones to sashes to plate shoulders off the x2 have dropped 2 times or less. I have the server discovery on Great Shadowguard Pauldrons, and we got this item maybe a month and a half ago on our 25th-30th run of the entire zone. Drop rate a little low? The crap loot needs to be removed from all of the nameds, and the good items made more common. Good items need to be added to some of the names, like Khazid, who has one item worth anything despite being arguably the 2nd or 3rd hardest encounter in the zone. The magic weaver has never dropped anything decent despite being the 2nd or 3rd hardest as well.

Of course the one drop from the zone that I want, hasn't even been discovered on my server yet /sigh

I've done one less trip through OOB than you, & seen nothing but crap wooden chests & one moderately interesting legendary chain tunic. The first time I went there, two of the nameds didn't drop anything at all. I do agree with you on the replay value, though: to date, because of the utterly crappy loot drops I've seen, OOB has little-to-no replay value for me.
