I've been away from the game for a while. One thing I remember though, is that the broker commission used to be calculated with the price of an item. Now I need to calculate the commission myself in order to set the correct price of anything I wish to sell. I am not very good at math so it's some trial and error before I get the correct price. Timeconsuming and boring! Is this som preference or UI-thing? My english is not the best, so I hope someone understand what I'm trying to ask... Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes the price you post for your items are "pre-commission" prices.

Commissions are typically 20% although it does vary somewhat depending on many variables.

This "variablility" is the reason they indicate pre commisssion prices.

The math is quite simple really just multiply your price x 1.2 and that will be approximatly the price.

eg; 100 x 1.2 = 120

The amount you enter is the amount you receive, the amount you see on the broker (and the amount your potential customers will have to pay) is your price + the commision fee (afair, the only way you ever saw how much the final price was going to be was after setting the price to Search the Market, timeconsuming yes )

The Commision fee is 20% for same city, 40% for opposing city, 0% if sold from your room

Hello again, and thanks both for your answers! But is this something new? I am sure I never had to bother to calculate the commission myself before... (like some 4-5 months ago when I played last time).

When you select an item in the list on the broker, it tells you what the base item price is and what the commission is. So, if you are looking to match the lowest price (or undercut it I guess) you just need to select the item, and look at the base price.

or how about just click on the representative item on the list - eg the scuffed shard selling for 2g40s (very simple one here) and at the bottom of the broker window it does the calculation for you and tells you that the 2g40s is 2g to the vendor and 40s for the broker.
