We ever going to get to see some new mounts? There are like what only horses and magic flying carpets thus far? Griffons would be a nice thing to buy and use at will if i could say so myself.

I'd like to see some new mounts as well, just seems a little strange that in a world as crazy as Norrath all we can muster for transportation is horses and an uber cliche'd carpet. I'd like to see them having nothing to do with guild status though, AKA you have to quest for them, then buy them. And maybe the more quests you do for the person selling it, the lower the price will go? Or maybe even getting a rare egg drop or something that starts a quest line for hatching your new mount, where you have to bring it around the world to different spots in order for it to hatch?.. Other ideas would be good.

I raided the other night and discovered I was the only player in the whole zone with a horse. Everyone else had a flying carpet. It was an army of flying carpet-riders, and me on a horse. I felt like a dork. Now I've started the quest for the flying carpet, so I can be just exactly like everyone else. yawn

Carpet seemed kinda cool when I was a newbie, but after awhile it was just another way to move faster. I remember the first time I saw a carpet... no, rather my friend told me that she saw one and I was like "What? No way!". But now it seems that they are all over the place, and not all that impressive.

I just banked my carpet for the first time a few days ago. I don't plan on ever using it again, as mistrunner suits my purposes just fine.

What I'd like to see in a future expansion/adventure pack is a giant turtle. Where are all the giant turtles? And I really hope there aren't any more raiding zone mounts. Or at least if they do add them, add a lesser version for the poor folks like me. Saddens me that I'll never see the interior of Deathtoll, but moreso because I will never have a flying disc. I know raiders need good stuff to keep them interested, but isn't the gear enough?

There also needs to be a mount preview option. All these new guild level 60 mounts and I don't have a clue what they all look like.

OR SOE could add more and diverse mounts! there's an idea!

I'm a carpet jocky because it's quiet. The annoying clip clopping noise of a horse's hooves and looking at a horse's [Removed for Content] all day does it in for me. As for alternative transport; it will probably be a Gnomish bicycle.

Unless my memory is truly gone, and it well may be, it seems I remember SOE stating there would be a "new mount" in EOF. Anyone else remember that promise?

Yep, and it's the new level 60 guild horses

Leafbringer

Then it's not really a "new mount", just another horse. Unless "new mount" can just mean the revamping of an old mount, which I guess it does. Gnomish bicycle is brilliant!!!!!!!!!! Gnomish handglider would be cool for short jump excursions (like safe fall, with a glider graphic) ... And yeah I suppose flying mounts will never happen in this game but I could see something like a giant hawk working ... they don't really fly in this game either, just sorta ... hover around. That would work like the carpet. Also like the idea of an aquatic mount like a turtle, but given the limited playability of large bodies of water in this game (they don't really connect the continents like they do in some other games), their use would be ... eh ... limited. Fighting mounts ftw! Me on a kodiak, you on an owlbear - throwing spells at each other while our pets maul it out ... that would be fun.

They do really need to put in more mounts just for the simple diversity of the game, what happen to drogmors? they all die? no eggs hidden anywhere?! come on if jurasic park can do it so can we!! also what happen the the mechanical boar mount? gnomes get stupid after 500 years and forget how to make one?

And if you still have that screenshot of the cat mount I wouldnt mind checking it out

I cant recall wich one, but in one of the developer chats after EoF release the mount issue was brought up regarding the rumored cat mounts. They said somethin in line with that cat mounts werent commin, but somethin else, more exotic. Maybe someone ccould find the exact quote.

Has anyone seen a recent list of all the mounts? All the ones I can find are almost a year old.. I've been scraping up cash for my nightmare, then I hear about level 60 mounts?? Should I wait another 20 guild levels?

Horses, Carpets, Hover Disk, and Cloud. Bought, quested/bought, dropped, and Tinker made respectively.

The Nightmare has added stats, the L60 does not. Not sure which way I'd advise you to go... if you are looking just for the speed-boost, then really the L60 mount is the way to go, and you save several plat. You just don't get the free stats. --Plague

EQ2 really, really need got to get their butt in gear and get some real and proper fantasy mounts in the game. Vanguard released with frigg'n flying dragons, griffons, camels, dire wolves for god's sake. WoW has had racial mounts since near launch as well. They have to get some exotic mounts to get some good press and try to draw people back like the fae did. There was talk in beta of racial mounts where large sized 'toons would ride elephants and rhinos and med sized races would ride horses and small races would have wolf mounts... nothing on release. Then the talk about cat and tinkered mounts (I don't consider a cloud a tinkered mount thats just a borrow lazy way asset borrowing) in EoF... nothing on release. Its been 2 1/2 years people time to get it done already!

Yes! Me wants them cat mountsies!!! That be so funs to annoys all them kerrans riding around on a cat!! Squeek!! EQ2 really needs more mounts, I saw some raptors in sinking sands that would make nice ratonga mounts (and other tiny races ofcourse). I don't think they have to add one mount for each race, instead add like 3-5 mounts in various sizes where each race might be able to ride 2-3 of them. What is a cool ratonga mount for me might not be what my ratonga friends like, so a few options for each race would be nice. Squeek!!

I'd like to see in future expansions bigger zones that allow flying mounts we control and not just flying transport on rails as we've got now. It would be a nice addition.

You can also buy a WARG mount in Loaping Plains, few short quests and u can ride a mean looking wolf.

I also suspect new mounts will be added with Guild Lv 70 and 80, after RoK.

Hiactee wrote:
I've been scraping up cash for my nightmare, then I hear about level 60 mounts?? Should I wait another 20 guild levels?
You get a signifcant portion of the cost back when you sell your old mount and 20 guild levels don't exactly rush by, so personally I wouldn't recommend waiting.

More mounts would be nice, but my biggest complaint with mounts is the size. For the love of god, stop sizing them to the race buying them! I'm a barbarian (main) and Hubby is a gnome (main). It looks so ridiculous when we mount up and I'm on a massive draft horse and he looks like he is on a pony. Same with the new mounts. I got a sobbering, mean wolf creature....he looks like he is on a puppy. Sheesh! Just because he is little doesn't mean he can't handle a normal sized mount. Small races really get screwed, IMO, where mounts are concerned.

My barbarian SK in vanguard plate on a horse looks like a gorilla trying to ride a tricycle, so if anything the barbarian mount size needs to be scaled up.
