I first posted in Quests forum, but think it may be appropriate here.

Maulic's Stringhold is the instanced zone for the last part of Return of the Light HQ. It's also the only zone that I know of that, when you evac, you are transported out of the zone, not to the beginning of the zone. The problem with this is that you are locked out for 18 hours just for entering the zone. If you evac, you are done for the day. If you dont evac and die, you can rev to the beginning of the instance, no problem. It just seems silly that death is your only option. Why can't evac take you to the beginning of the zone, as it does in all other instances, or, alternatively, lockout only after you kill General Drull.

I cant think of a single instanced zone (with a lockout) that doesnt transport you out of the zone when you evac. So I think that it is intended to work that way. As far as I know the instanced zones with lockouts have the respawn point inside the zone. I know that for Maulic's Stronghold if you die you respawn inside the zone.

I think quite a lot of group instances lack respawn inside the zone too. Edit: the examine info of evac says that it's teleports the caster to a safe spot *inside* the current zone though, so I can understand the frustration.

Yeah I've had the same problem here. We were doing a guild raid and figured it would be ok to evac.. ended up porting us out of the instance and back to antonica, therefore being locked out. Would be nice to make sure we are evaced to zoneline or safe spot within the zone as intended, not in another zone.

Other than Maulic's Stronghold, I know of no other instance where you evac out of the zone. If there are, could you specify which ones?

CoV was cited as an example of evac remaining in the instance. Acadachism is another, as is the Nest of the Great Egg. And, I agree, the spell says it will transport you to a safe spot in the zone.

The point is, its not consistent. It needs to be so that you know what to expect when you use evac.

The Splitpaw instances do this too. I was very annoyed with my Ranger when I got too much aggro in Harclave's and was shot back out if the instance. I checked The Hideout and it happens there as well.

"the examine info of evac says that it's teleports the caster to a safe spot *inside* the current zone though," There-in lies the pickle with BSV. There is no safe spot inside the zone. If you're doing the RotL quest, the waves will come chew you by the door where the evac point would be. Death of the entire group, or FD is the only thing that I recall will stop them once they get going (and it will only stop the current wave). So, say you're in there and half your raid wipes and you evac - they'll come eat you anyway. If someone revives during this time, they'll get eaten again before rebuffing, etc. Not a happy moment. So, probably not worth it to bother with an evac, then. Other "safe" points in the zone are actually not safe - on the other side of the wall to the right, is the same thing, only epic sized. The valley up to the left from the entrance is a spawn point for messengers, IIRC, so there's ag running through there. They did change the zone, fyi - it used to be that you revived out of zone and could not try again. Edit - oh, I just found this for the "if you think that's bad" section. From yesterday's update notes: "Casting Escape in the ‘A Meeting of the Minds' zone will now take you to Feerrott instead of Everfrost." MotM is a raid zone in the Feerrott up at the top middle of the zone. I thought it was a random fluke (i.e. we could have ended up anywhere) when, one day, a friend cast his Ring of Fate in the middle of an after hours raid, and ported our group to Everfrost. Had no idea THAT was the evac point. Yikes!!
