I discovered this quite by accident but its kinda cool / silly.

If your a scout class "track" something nearby before taking off on a griffion.

It leaves a trail of light behind the Griff looking like a vapor trail

Ive also learned you can hop off a griffon before you reach the next tower. A cool short cut to spires and the like if you know which routes they take.

Any sparkly effects a toon has on will also leave a trail.....even the candy cane effect, which is pretty cool!

Also, if you minimize your screen right after the griff takes off...and leave it minimized for a few minutes, when you open the window back up, you'll be standing in mid air, not far from the griff station.

Otherwise it's a great way to see the Revive... window.

One of the zerker's fun abilities is to put thier whole body on fire. Once mounted on a regular mount (horse, carpet, ufo) or on a griffon, it puts all of it on fire, too. Looks cool..

I play 3 scouts and two fae (one of those is the same, a fae brig, hehe), and one half-elf Fury, and I cannot even say how many times that half-elf fury has plummeted to her doom, for having the misfortune neither to be winged nor to have 300 safe fall... >_<

I have jumped countless times off the griffon's back with my SK and haven't died once, much less taken more then a cumulative total of 100 points of damage... You simply need to know when / where to jump i guess. Knowledge is power... the rest are street grease. And no, i do not have any safe fall adornments. been doing this since long before EoF came out. The griffons do fly low in several places on their flight paths. just watch is all.

Another oddity i have found on griffonback is that your head splits in half when you take an orbital screenshot. Happens on every computer i have tested it on (three totally different hardware spec'd comps). Happens on every griffon tower, every flight path i used. Suppose i could /bug report it but it isn't something i am sure many even know about as an option to do... much less be considered a problem since it's only cosmetic.

For those wondering, /cl_orbital_screenshot is how you take the pics. I recommend making a button. This is a great tool to use for pics of the inside of your house. If you have access to video editting software, you can stich all 36 pics that are taken together and make a seamless 360-interactive video clip. I had one hosted for a while but the guy took his site down... imagery went with it. Do a search, not too hard to find.

Enjoy!

If you start a conversation with the griffon trainer, then go invis, then select destination, you and your griffon fly off with invis

Just tried that...and it took me forever to do! And then I screwed up on the cropping = Anyways, here it is, I did it in imageready, I'm sure theres an easier way to do it because once I got the pics...it took like 2 or 3 hours to edit and stuff! Definitely is pretty cool, though!

The orbital screenshots can be done from either view point. If you do it from first person, you see everything around you. If you do it from third person, you see all around yourself. Animated gifs aren't a bad way to do it but they are not interactive. If you can seam it with video software, you can control your view by scrolling the slider back and forth. I'll try to make one later today and post it. Watch this space after 2pm EST (20 Feb 07)

Jumping off the griffons, clouds and carpets is a nice feature that they added awhile back. I use it as a shorcut all the time.

Haven't tried this for several months so not sure if it still works, but if you right click on a horse whistle immediately after choosing your destination, the griffin is invisible when you take off so it looks like you're just sitting on nothing flying through the air. Wonder Woman's invisible plane I geuss. . Used to be you could then jump after doing that trick and it would then look like you were running or falling all the way on your griffin trip, but then they added that thing where you could jump off.
