I know this has been brought up alot but would love to have the ability to make my own avatar =D instead of using the defualt ones =D would make it so players could even customize their profile even more =D also would make alot of people happy!

I was wondering this too. Are we gonna eventually get the ability to create an avatar? I looked everywhere on my profile for an option to upload or link a pic but could not find anything.

Yes, this has been brought up many times. I wouldn't mind seeing this based on forum rank somehow, but that aside, there is an issue with custom avatars not being limited in size. On the MxO forums where some experimentation with custom avatars has been done, some people have caused quite a problem with HUGE custom avatars.

That of course begs the question, "why not simply limit the size"? A fixed size would work best and could be done easily. We already have custom signatures so why not custom avatars?

Completely agree ^ ^ ^

This would be swell! Right now, I'd settle for having my race represented in the selection of avatars. It seems several are missing (Fae, Erudite, others...?)

I agree completely, but only if they enable the ability to hide/show avatars (and signatures at that) prior to the custom avatar capability.

I would like some sort of Templar avatar, not the old Cleric censor. I mean seriously .. there are Defilers on ther .. even Inquisitors!

As for avatars, there is ways to limit it to certain sizes. Other forums I post on have something saying any big pictures will be resized to AxB size.

Personally I think there is enough meaningless drivel attached to our posts as it is. We are allowed custom sigs and I think this should be plenty to enable us to express ourselves. Personally I have disabled my avatar and I think the SOE generated "seasonal" avatar should be optional too. The guild/server info option IMO is really quite useful. Anything more is a distraction.

I think people should be more interested in what is in the body of the text rather than how the poster attempts to show everyone just how "cool" he/she is.

Just an opinion....

I vote for adding em. Limiting the avatar size is a default option on virtually all forum software.

Saw a post where a user had a custom avatar, any idea how to add one? Thanks!

To get a custom avatar, you must be smiled upon by the Powers That Be (aka the forum admins). They have to enable custom avatars for users on an individual basis, usually as a reward for winning a contest here on the forums.

Fingers crossed that this changes, but there's no word that it will.
