I'm trying to load the page to download the Play the Fae Trial.

The message I get : We're sorry, there appears to be a problem loading this website. You may need to enable JavaScript in your browser in order to continue.

Hey, thanks for the incomprehensible technical jargon. Hint to get more subscribers: Explain how to enable JavaScript. I used to work in technical support and if anyone ever wrote something as patently stupid as the above message they would be fired.

In order to continue, you may need to bramble the figet in the contoxor. I'm really, really sorry, but idiot is the only word I can think for the person who put up that message. I'm sorry but you ARE an idiot.

Glad we got that out of the way. I made sure I had the latest flash from macromedia. The site says it works. I also made sure I had sun java 1.5.0_11. Nothing leads me to believe java is not enabled, but then I can't find the place in my browser that says, "Hey guy, javascript is enabled." I'm using IE 7.

So, kindly, please, how do I make sure Javascript is enabled. Thanks a ton.

First of all: ya dont have to act like a total [Removed for Content] as that doesnt realy make people want to help you.

Java is used in alot of website`s so if the sony site doesnt work chances are numerous others wont work either. Sometimes it works to reset your browser in your optionscreen cos its known that some anti-spyware programs disable java support extra safety.

If that doesnt work you have a serious issue with your browser and should contact microsoft for support. Blaiming sony for your own problem isnt the way to go.

How do I enable, or make sure that JavaScript is enabled? Thanks again. I realise I may be coming off as a hot head to you, but I actually used to work in tech support and the message they gave is simply stupifying to me. They say I have to enable something, but don't tell me how to enable it. My position is unchanged. I'd fire the person who put that message up.

Please know that I appreciate your help. I have nothing but respect for people who try to help. Conversely, I have nothing but disdain for so-called professionals that help no one, and that, frankly, cop out of helping as the message they give clearly indicates.

I've played all the MMORPGs. All. Well, almost all. I may have missed 3 or 4 of the titles no one ever heard of. I have never, ever in my life seen a group of people so dedicated to wasting a person's time as Verant is. I won't even go into it. Those who play(ed) EQ1 know "what it is."

Verant actually tried to ruin SWG. They couldn't stand the fact that another MMORPG with such great potential was competeing with them and they must have [Removed for Content] in their pants when they found out they had the license (okay, through SOE but it was still Verant making the game). It's simply obvious to anyone who watched the evolution of SWG carefully.

Obviously Lucas had a word with them (if you don't fix my game I'll kill you), and suddenly the sadists at Verant had a boot up their arses. They fixed the game because everyone knows a boot up the [Removed for Content] really, really hurts.

But since SOE is essentially a clueless, braindead corporation that only understands how to count money (and here one can point to WoW and Blizzard and their 8 million subscribers as an example of a mindful, considerate corporation that actually wants it's customers to have fun and prides itself in doing good work), SOE is manipulated by the sadists at Verant.

Verant makes games but they care not one iota whether the game is good or bad. They just want the game to be addictive. They don't care if you have fun or not. They purposefully add content that is a complete waste of time because that's them. It's their MO. Time-sinks are us. Now that WoW slam-dunked them, they are getting heat like you wouldn't believe. About time.

No need to agree or disagree, I know what I know. And thanks again, sincerely, for the help. I have no quarrel with you.

It seems I have Java Plug-in 1.5.0_11, and it's enabled. I also have the latest Shockwave Flash Object from Adobe/Macromedia (whatever they're calling themselves these days). What's odd is that if I go to ageofempires3.com, their flash/java (I hope it's what it is) seems to work perfectly. I get all the videos, etc.

The SOE site works perfectly with this PC, it's my backup that is having problems. I'll have to do what you suggested and check active-X on google. I'm compelled to fix it, lol. I'm downloading Trail of the Isle on that backup PC so I worked around what appears (as you suggested) to be my problem.

Again, thanks so much for your help. Sorry I come off like a lunatic about Verant. It's the little things they do that are so obviously (at least to me--I may be crazy though) nasty and unnecessary that makes me shake my head.

First off, Java and JavaScript are two different things. Installing a Java VM inst going to enable JavaScript. Secondly, that error message that you are so rudely referring to is generated by your browser NOT by anything SoE is doing... before you run around badmouthing everyone, your should try having a clue about what you are talking about. Third, spending 8 seconds of your own time with google will answer your question. Since apparently your 8 seconds is more valuabe than the rest of ours - http://www.tranexp.com/win/JavaScri...bling.htm#MSIE7 --Ruab

As to the OP, if you worked in tech support then you should really know how to solve your own problems through research. It pains me to see you bring attitude to a forum where people are trying to help. It's even worse that you didn't bother trying to find this information on your own. Please utilize tools available before you post here. It looks much better if you find your solution then post it for everyone to see. Also makes you a hero to those who didn't ask the question and now have the answer. thanks, i hope this changes your mind on proper use of the technical forums here. People here aren't out to get you but it is rather bothersome that people don't try to help themselves first sometimes.
