As many of you have noted, some forums are no longer with us after the transition. The Zones and Population forum for instance. While this will be sad news for some, the overall intent is to consolidate discussions and make it easier for any player (new or experienced) to find the right place for their questions; and to cut down the monolithic list of forums we had prior to the transition. I lost my favorite forum, where do I post now? In many cases a forum like the Gameplay Discussion forum will be the appropriate answer. No new forums were created, so when you are trying to sort out where to put a thread that you would have once put in a different forum one of the others should come to mind. If none seem appropriate, your message should be fine in the Gameplay Discussion forum. Why are you so evil Grimwell? Some consolidation was needed and the transition made for a good time to reevaluate the forums we had, the amount of traffic each forum received, and the level of redundancy some created. The end result is that some cuts were made and after we get used to the new structure (and forums, and tools, etc.) we should have a much more streamlined setup.

Please don't let it get to the point of SWG's gameplay discussion. That's my only comment.

Out of curiousity, is there any thoughts of re-adding in some of the Hot threads, as example Cloak of Flames spoiler in the Quests and Live events Forum ??

Some of those were used by many people and very helpful. I can understand a clean slate =) but some threads I think should have been remerged into the new forums.

Overall, I am liking what has been done, and fixed, will take a bit to get used to hehe =) but nicely done all who were involved

Im sure there's a back up somewhere or maybe the OP has it archived. Sorry for the bad news.

I support the decision to pair down the forums. Based on the current level of activity there were just way too many. To be honest, we could probably trim even further. It wasn't totally dysfunctional to have even just one board. I'm not advocating that of course but just saying we don't need 500 of em.

I like the second question Grim, its good to be able to laugh at one's self while under the pressure of an entire hoard of anrgy forum users.

They did say to save, but I think people may have been caught off guard as other game boards got moved over before this one with all posts apparently intact. (eg the EQLive boards got a light editing, if they were changed at all, other than dropping the server boards)

I"m sure that part of that answer is probably much of that information is available on fansites so there's a certain amount of redundancy to put them here also. There are many fansites out there devoted to walkthrus and spoilers.

What I find interesting is where they did save threads at. Looks like the lore board is still there. Also the server forums still have their posts from before. I wonder why they couldn't have saved some of the others also. I know you can never make everyone happy this way but at least some could have been saved based on views/posts etc.

I had several threads I subscribed to and they no longer exist. Case in point I had subbed to a thread about the deities and their abilities and what not. I had subbed to it last month. Just today I got my templar to Faydark, and I came here looking for my subbed thread, and now I'm lost about what diety gives what benefits.

I can't say I'm suprised, but I am more than a little disappointed that the tradeskill specific forums were ditched. Now it is all going to be crammed into a single forum. The sub forums made it nice to have a place for class specific questions.

I won't say anything else because nothing else I have to say should be said in public.

Zone discussion was a forum I would not have gotten rid of. Infact I would have more then likely made it just like the server forums and split it up into sections depending upon the expansion or tier.

Zone Discussion -T7 -T6 -T5&T4 -T3&Below

There is still a fair amount of people who raid in this game (belive it or not) and I for one often used that forum to see what the general buzz on mobs / zones was (like when Harla Dar's AE was massivly over powered). I dont want to have to hunt through 409678028602 OMG SPAM post to find out vital information on a zone.

I like the new forums, I think you guys are doing a heck of a job here but getting rid of the zone ones /sadpandamodeon =/

Zone and Population was the best forum for raiders... there was where we posted Bugs, info of the zones, Flames to other guids, flames to soe dev for doing noob thing in zones here and there. Now all those thread will get loss in the Gameplay Discussion forum sigh.... nvm lol I see that the Zone and Population forum isn't coming back hehehe guess now eq2flames.com is 10000x better than eq2forums since they have Zone and Population forum heheh (was better before too but not 10000x heheh)

Me, I would like a 'General' board. Often I have things to ask or say that may not be pacific to any of the boards but of still Eq2 related, and it doesnt seem to fit Game play discussion because it is not game play. A board to talk about the stuff that doesnt fit any of the topics. Tessa.
