<font color="#E2BD01">Greetings, y'll. I bought a five room house over 7 months ago, a week after DoF was released. Shortly after that, I became very busy with work, and was unable to put in the time to decorate it, 'til recently. I've spent the last 3-4 weeks working on it, and I just finished. Finally. <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> I've spent a lot of time making sure everything's just perfect, 'cause well, I'm a perfectionist. <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> You will find a few unique ideas: wall unit, fireplace, spiral staircase, and a couple others.<p>You are cordially invited to visit my newly decorated five room house!<p><center><img src="http://eq2images.station.sony.com/000/001/072/611.jpg"><p><b>Owner: </b>Howlingmoon Wolvespirit (That's me!)<b>Address: </b>5 <P>This just goes to show why Everquest II is the best MMORPG I've played thus far. Not only does the game offer endless possibilities but the community and what the players do to enhance their game experience is simply breathtaking. </P> <P>I'd like to congratulate you and say that your home, your sanctuary is beautiful, the layout is amazing and the fireplace and the stairs blew my mind. Fantastic job there. As soon as I get my pc fixed I'm coming to visit your home. </P> <P> </P>

OMG, that is absolutely insane.  I am absolutely amazed at your creativity.  I am really at a loss of words to say anything else, but I think I may roll a toon on your server just to see it in person!

<DIV>Lovely looking, but wow ... I can only wince with pain looking at that staircase ... that must have taken weeks to get so perfect!</DIV>

<blockquote><hr>Didi wrote:<DIV>Lovely looking, but wow ... The first two times took one full day, each. Tis time, I decided to take it slow. I worked on it a couple hours at a time, every day, for several days. I didn't keep track of how many hours went into each part of the house. Wish I had, now. <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Let's just say, I started working on tis around mid-March, and I just finished last night. I spent almost every minute I was logged into EQ2, working on it. <img src="/smilies/1cfd6e2a9a2c0cf8e74b49b35e2e46c7.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

Howlingmoon, it's INCREDIBLE!  What a fantastic job you've done.  As I was looking at the pics, I wondered how you had managed to do such complicated decorating and not run out of items -- then, alas, I saw there was nothing yet for the basement and attic.  I hope this will help convince the "powers that be" that we desperately need a larger item allowance, especially for the 5-room houses.  I can't wait to see what you do with those rooms, once you can use a couple hundred more items.  Gonna make an alt and come by -- just have to see this first-hand, even tho I'm expecting a lag problem.  <div></div>

Absolutely superb!!!  I have seen some fantastic homes in here, but yours is the cream of the crop.  With the limited resourses for detail, you managed to actually put themes to areas and make it look realistic (in a game sense :smileytongue: ).  The tiered Library and staircase are strokes of genius... Amazing.

<div></div>Yes, gnomish spring boots.  You get them as a collection reward for large pieces of airship plating.  I once saw a screenie posted somewhere on the forum of a character who had jumped to an impossibly high location in his boots -- can't find that shot now, but Sugargirl posted this:<hr size="2" width="100%"><div>"We discovered the most useful item in the game last night.... and it totally wasn't what we were expecting. We decided to kill the Dragon in PoA, which we did easily with a 5 man group. However, once the corpse disappeared, we were disappointed to not se any loot anywhere! After a little b*tching and moaning one of members yelled "Master!"</div><div> </div><div>Indeed, we did get a Master chest off him... but it was stuck way up in the wall out of our reach. After much jumping, petitioning, whining, moaning, and general other unpleasantries, our monk CoQ'd and ran to the bank to try something. He trained back up to us and proceeded to bounce, bounce bounce... and Viola! The lid popped open.</div><div> </div><div>So, if you get your Gnomich Spring Boots, don't sell them! That item is UBER!"<hr size="2" width="100%">One of my characters has hers, but can't equip them yet.  Here's the examine, tho:<img src="http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e294/Draeknar/gnomishboots.jpg">So you're not using gnomish spring boots?  Hmmm....what's your secret? <span>:smileyvery-happy:</span></div><div></div><p>Message Edited by Galldora on <span class=date_text>04-22-2006</span> <span class=time_text>08:00 AM</span>

But I'm not a programmer. My guess, though, is that it's moving things that create most of the lag, so if someone wants to cram 500 cats in his house, big problem, but 500 books would be just fine. If lag's an issue, laggy stuff can be stored elsewhere for now, and I can move my book collection into my house. If the choices are "more items now, with lag (depending on what you have in there)" or "no increased limit until we fix the lag", I'll take the first, since fixing things like lag, if it's even possible, seem to be low on the devs' list.We also need furniture we can use!</div>

<font color="#E2BD01">I mostly used the cellus family bookcase from the Zek solo quest (seen in the Halfling Settee screenshot). I'd place the bookcase at the angle I wanted the shelf to place, place the shelf at the height I wanted, moved the bookcase forward/down with one click (rotated once with mouse wheel), rinse and repeat. I also used Freeport wooden counters and oggokian rock tables as tools, mostly just for something for me to stand on in the middle of nowhere, and to place the cellus family bookcase. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />Hope that's what you were looking for. I am currently working on maxing all four (five when crafting writs come back) writ factions in Freeport, and then will work on the five writ factions in Qeynos. I plan to do two five rooms at the same time. One in Freeport, one in Qeynos. We'll see how it goes but, definitely won't be for a few months.

I can't wait to see you do a Freeport 5-room with your talent!  I meant to ask you what the lag meter is like in your house?  I am 278/500 and have a kickass system, but it already starts to lag a bit.  I am worry it will be so bad once I fill the house up, that noone but I can walk in myself!

And reguardless of what kind and how many pieces of furniture you have, all five room houses seem to be very laggy. <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Poor design, I think. Freeport five rooms are even worse than Qeynos. <img src="/smilies/1cfd6e2a9a2c0cf8e74b49b35e2e46c7.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

As wonderful as this house is (or was since the OP stated they've already torn most of the decor in the screenies down), posting nearly two years later is still raising the dead so this post gets the unfortunate lock.
