<div>As a decorating fanatic, as many of us are, I'm sending out a plea for old housing items that seem to have been lost and forgotten by some.  You know the pieces of which I speak...curved counters, the old style bookcases w/books, even some vases can only be found in the homes of the lucky ones who bought them when they had a chance.  Little did we know we would only have these pieces for a precious short time.</div><div> </div><div>The other matter I wish to discuss, if noob house item plants can be implemented, where are the rest of them?  As an evil character, I have to sneak these plants and flowers to fill my home with more color and appeal.  We need more house plants!  House pets are all well and good, and the carnivorous house plant is awesome, but I'd like something that doesn't move!  LOL!</div><div> </div><div>I recently moved into a 5 room, because simply I love to make my house look great and fill it with many different things, from adventures to wonderful things friends have made.  I would love more accent pieces, even if just a handful of items, but something that can be obtained by anyone willing to put forth of the effort of questing, harvesting or crafting. </div><div> </div><div>There have been many archived threads on this subject, but I want to bring it up as a still wanted and current request.  Please continue it with further ideas and requests.  Oh, and btw did I mention real fireplaces?  Everyone knows how I love to design fireplaces, but I'd love to just unpack and place for once a beautiful freestanding fireplace.  It gets a little tedious placing items just so to make it look real, hehe.  :smileywink:</div>

Well said Lady V, well said!  I'd like to add some Curtains to this, as well as more textiles.  I've seemed to of lost my pillow I had from the Barren Sky quest (I bought it off broker, so i'm only out coin, not time which would just realy irk me), oh my point, I do love the KoS quested items, the plushies and things are wonderful.  I only have 2 racial items that I used my alts for, to me its a bit frustrating to recycle alts. And yes Lady V, it would be wonderful to just put in one piece for a fireplace!!!!<div></div>

<div></div><p>I totally agree.</p><p>The old furniture was nerfed to help the craftsman (carpenters in particular) become a viable way to make coin.  But that was way back when, and now most carpenters make the highend & rare stuff leaving a HUGE void for new players and alts.  I think its time for the furniture merchants to get some of the old items back in stock - ie. cookstove, butcherblock table, simple chairs, rocking chairs (I have been watching for weeks for this one, and what finally appeared? - a legendary bone rocking chair for 17gold!), a few bookcases, desks, a few lower end paintings, etc.  At this point in the game, I don't think this would hurt the trades at all.  We have seen food other than the average stuff reappear, and jewelry/armor/weapons with stats have reappeared at the merchants, but still, the only furniture is a few lights (candelabra, generic sconce, brazier), some vases, and buckets out the wazoo.  The merchant in the Furniture Shop in Qeynos sells FOOD!  The merchants in the Music shop in Freeport sells ARMOR!  C'mon!</p><p>The addition of a few smaller items would be nice too (Quested, made, or merchant - or a combo of all three).  The houseplants mentioned, as well as different beddings, utensils & cups/plates for the tables, a table light/candle, a Halfling pipe, a Gnome gizmo... the little things that adds character.  And of course, fireplaces.</p>

He also went on to tell me that the ornate counters (I asked for him to include both!) will be T6 rare, and there will be at least one fireplace. I also asked him to see about getting us the old merch purchased furniture put into recipes so we can make them. He said we'll get about 15-20 pieces of T6 rare, and a number of other recipes to go in different spots throughout the other tiers. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></font>

Wow, that's very exciting news!  With that much new stuff, I'll need a whole other house to hold it all!  Looks like one of my alts will be movin' on up!<div></div>

<div>Flowers please!  Little vases, baskets and pots of colorful floral arrangements that will fit in the windows and on tables as center pieces or end table decoration and hanging baskets with vines would be fantastic.   </div>

My only disappointment is that it sounds like a lot of it is gonna be rare pieces.  Considering the price many people sell rare furniture for, this is still gonna make it very very expensive to have all the great furniture in your home. So if people want a great home, theyre gonna have to fork out a whole lot of money for either, rare furniture or rare metals, woods, etc, to have them made. </div><div>Love the idea of the fireplace though,  helps cut down on the item count that sky rockets when you make one with tons of little pieces.</div>

Great news, but I wish they would get off the 'rare' furniture.  I'd like to see some of the old stuff come back as easy recipes so the lower level (and poorer) characters could add some atmosphere to their rooms.  A few odd pieces reappearing on the merchants wouldn't hurt either.

/slight derail onId like to see a rent reduction value added to every house placeable item that is awarded as part of a quest.  Several of the DoF/KoS collection rewards have very nice reduction on them, but some of the quest rewards are just zero.Sure - buying yellow sand off of the broker is tough, but what about completing the Isabella Cellus quest in Zek?  The Pillow from that KoS quest in Barren Sky, and the listening crystal you get from completing that quest in Sanctum of the Scaleborn also have no rent reduction value. They went so far as to remove the 'item count' portion of most books because we told them that there wasn't anyway we could fit our collections into our houses.  Now that they've made bigger houses more affordable to get into - they are giving us rewards that we almost have to keep in the bank.  The cheap status rent 5 rooms in Qeynos require 50K upkeep.  If you stuff 500 items in it they'd each need a 100 point reduction minimum.  Unfortunately - most of the trophies we gain adventuring have zero - so we need rares added into the mix. Here again - our achievements are being downplayed.  Our luck and our cashflow are whats on display. Why not make the rewards of our accomplishments worth displaying in the houses we've worked so hard to move in to?Im not talking a huge amount, but make it worth while.  Beautiful artwork is available on the City Merchants for lots of gold and lots of personal status, but the rent reduction is 30ish??  Again - another accomplishment - guild level achieved, status gained and spent - the actual value is plain common.  A level 30+ guild status item gives the same reduction as something any lvl 9 artisan could throw together using some severed Elm and a few roots harvested from T1.Again - it shouldn't be a huge amount, but it still needs to be significant.  Right now 0 point quest rewards and high lvl guild status items with 30ish points is just a bit of a mockery of the hard work people put into getting them./slight derail off<div></div>

<DIV>Oh please please please return the ornate curved and corner counters sooooon!  I never did have a chance to buy these items from the merchant as I thought, so many moons ago, that housing and furniture items were such fluff (gasp!).....but I have now come to realise the errors of my ways.  I....must....decorate!!  My abode <U>will be pretty!!</U> (and well, it is, short of the curved counters, qeysonian dressers, and perhaps a fireplace or two).  I have rambled long enough, for the Brew Day Celebration Ale has gotten the best of me.   I shall go make myself a tasty bedtime snack...a simple meal, using my glorious Qeysonian Stove, I will create a mouthwatering sharkfin soup.. whereafter I will retire to my room and sleep the sleep of a thousand Kings in my posturpedic Ornate Overlords Bed.  </DIV>

<DIV>First on my wish list is the little stove that used to be available from the furniture merchant. In beta we could buy the tiffany-style table lamps and floor lamps. Those were nice and I know the models already exist for them somewhere. Third on my wish list would be cooking utensiles like those you see in Rivervale in the shops. </DIV>

I mean planters and patios that we'd love to put to use!<div></div>

<P>3 ideas/suggestions that I'ld like to put out to the community...</P> <P>1) Add a 4 room house already! I've just moved into a 3 roomer in SFP (Now 4 rooms and I'm working on a 5th Mwhaha) as the 5 room house RS cost is crazy, I have a choice of 9k per week or 50k. There should be a middle ground of say 25k per week just so I can slowly work up the number of rares I have in my house.</P> <P>2) Increase the house item limit on each house in game atm. Possible numbers:</P> <P>1 Room = 100</P> <P>2 Room = 250</P> <P>3 Room = 400</P> <P>4 Room = 550</P> <P>5 Room = 700</P> <P>No increase in the 1 room limit due to the location benefits of these houses.</P> <P>3) MOST IMPORTANTLY! Let us own 2 houses! This would get rid of 90% of the hassle of moving IMO (No need to make 4 alt houses etc). In RL if you have the money you can buy a holiday home somewhere and the same principle should apply in EQ2. This is especially in light of the new houses in the expansion. Also when moving all you'ld have to do is make a few journeys from one house to another with out the need to log (you might be encumbered but that's another story :smileyvery-happy<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P> <P>It's late here so I don't have the time to type out more, but what do you think of these ideas?</P> <P>PS New flowers etc would be nice! Just trying to get some cheap Feysteel for my fireplace atm /sob (No way I'm paying 1pp per piece!)</P> <P> </P>

Just recently I had to move one of my characters out of her one room into a two room, and it was so fusterating! I was lucky to have a slot to be able to make a mule, but it still took 2 alt houses and tons of trips. I should be able to buy a new 2 room, and move all my stuff myself in a few trips, without camping, or having to talk someone into helping me. It seems if one is rich enough, they ought to be able to have two houses. I'd use the little appartments as a shop or something, and my house as well.. my house.</P> <P>On the note of new items, I want to see more things like cups, bowls, plates, mugs, food items, etc. Set my dining room table with plates, bowls, and cups. Have a few mugs next to my bar. An apple pie cooling in the window, some bread in the kitchen, so on. As well as just more little odds and ends to help make a home look  more lived in.</P>

I love all these suggestions, especially for decorations like dishes and plants that make our houses look like homes. Some of the elf quests give plants for rewards, so you could do the "make elf - get reward - place reward - delete elf" thing, although if you're planning on moving, you'd have a problem. All those no-trade items are something else I'd like to see go away, or at least if the character's been deleted, let the owner claim the items. <div></div>

I too am eagerly awaiting the new furniture items....but I'm running out of space for the big stuff and I too would like to see the "details" take care of.  Someone mentioned that in beta you could buy the Tiffany lamps, I've loved those for ages. And how about some small vases that AREN"T blue/green? <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> I would also like to see more "baubles" like the Manastone, Glowing Black Stone, Greater Lightstone HQ items size/style.  The rainbow ficuses in Sanctum of Scale in KoS are soo lovely...and they even have a table friendly potted size on some of the tables (rather than the palmtree size ones...). I'd also like to see more pillows that we could add, or different colours of the Djinn Pillow Set (there are several different versions of these between DoF and KoS zones, including a divine blue and purple set.....).  And finally, I would love to see ZONE SPECIFIC furniture pieces.  Since there are instance zones with special recipes for other crafters, why not giving carpenters a chance to make zone specific items...such as the winged benches in The Nest or Palace of the Awakened in KoS. Other suggestions: the purple curtained bed in Deathfyst Citadel or the gorgeous beds and desks in Poet's Palace.  I know, wishful thinking, but a girl's gotta have dreams...<div></div>

Another good thing would be a better way of placing items. Sometimes the first-person view is way too close to get something just where you want it. Being able to place things anywhere would be good, too. There could be one option to keep things the way they are now, and another to allow items to overlaps walls, floors, ceilings, or other items, or even float. It would be much easier to build stuff.<div></div>

For items that were different for Qeynos/Freeport citizens then maybe you would have to make a "donation" to this broker (say 5 gold) to be given the option to purchase from the opposing city... if Im qeynos and I have the qeynos snowglobe but wish to own the Freeport one as well , then I would have to pay 5 gold what was available.  Then there would be the additional cost for whatever I purchased.  If  an item had status reduction then, it would still have status reduction on it but would be a bit less.</DIV> <DIV>         <STRONG>                Then                                                                                                                        Now<BR>        Item: Fine Painting of a Castle on a Hill                                                     Item: Fine Painting of a Castle on a Hill <BR>        Obtained: Once Sold on Merchants (Painting)                                        Obtained: Once Sold on Merchants (Painting) <BR>        Status Reduction: 40                                                                                     Status Reduction: 30</STRONG>   </DIV> <DIV><BR>Im sure there would be ways to exploit that, to drop status, but  maybe it could be fixed so peeps are limited to the number of THE SAME item they can buy.  Using that painting as an example, it could say something like,  Due to the overwhelming demand and the limited supply you are only allowed a maximum of  3 per home. and to cut out the possibility of folks buyin em then brokering em for more, it's flagged so, although it can be traded, it cannot be sold.(except back to that merchant, for a reduced amount) paid 5 gold for it and get a resale of 4 gold 50 silver.</DIV> <DIV><BR>But what, you ask would those w/o homes do? Well if ya don't have a home why would you want to spend money on a HOUSE item? and covering the Trustee vrs home owner thing... Say Joe has a manor he shares with an alt and a girlfriend  Alt and girlfriend are Trustees but do not have their own home.  Joe buys 1 of the paintings, puts it in his house and at the same time his girlfriend is buying one of those same paintings and she places it in Joe's house, the system then knows there are 2 of the same identical paintings in there.</DIV> <DIV> Another friend who is also trustee but owns a home buys 2 of the paintings places 1 in his house and shares the other with Joe and his girlfriend as a housewarming gift. The system recognizes that now Joe's house has the maximum number of THAT painting, but the friend still has the option to place 2 more paintings in his own home because he has not met the max yet. </DIV> <DIV><BR>As for folks who have/don't have the adventure/expansion packs, it looks to me (at least on everseek.com) that it is litterally all older stuff, from the original game, so I don't think crashing when entering someones house because you don't have the animation shouldn't be an issue. <BR>There looks to be about 100 items listed in the used to be sold by merchants section and I think a couple of them were actually quest items  which although may not be do able at anytime could be brought back as an add in during the holidays.... </DIV> <DIV>last Halloween's haunted Mansion or the why the grump hated frostfell quest at Christmas even the 2 Valentine ones could be brought out in Febuary PLUS any new fun things SoE has ups it's sleeve for the up and coming holidays, that way if folks weren't here to get those quests, they would have the option to do them, as well as any new ones that may be out...and for those that did it already...if the quest was repeatble then ( I recall the love lust devotion and passion candles quest) Then they should be able to re do it if they wish.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I know this post has been long, and it may be in the wrong place but I just started thinking and this is what happens when I think too much. But go ahead and blow holes in my idea or agree with and add to it if you notice something not mentioned. but I think I covered just about all aspects of it and I think it would be relatively simple for the programers to do...I dunno Im not a programmer. but I am going to submit this both here and as a feedback, who knows? maybe someone with clout will take notice and like the idea</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Lexi</DIV>

<DIV>Okay since you all brought his up I thought I would add my three or four cents.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I agree on small items to fill in those empty spaces in bookcases, on tables and counters and in the kitchen. What about sacks of flour and sugar? Loaves of bread, varying sizes of bottles, a bakers rack ,a pot rack, baskets of eggs, crates of cackling chickens, hanging bunches of herbs, hams and sausages curing on a rack, small herb gardens, pots and pans, plates and utensils, tablecloths. Knicknacks, like figurines.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>One thing that constant vexes me as I decorate is the varying finish of woods. It would be nice if all teak were the same color finish, and cedar and briarwood etc. It would also be nice to have color sets go together. We have beautiful purple beds, but there are barely any other corresponding items to go with them. I love those inexpensive maple bookcase because the wood is rich and warm and loooks polished. It LOOKS like maple! What about black and glossy ebony? Or rich red cedar or deep brown teak? What about oak? This wood should have a lovely grain.....?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>There is an over abundance of red/blue items, which is useful if you like the combination.... but there are few items in primary one tone color schemes.</DIV> <DIV>As a warden I would dearly love a green toned home but that color seems to be missing, even the Green wisp is lavender! Also the hues of many of the items are so faint they vanish into tthe space of a large home. It would be nice to see the tones of color match in hues a bit more, look at the square and round quilted rugs, which could go so well with the dijnn pillows, yet the colors are off just enough make them difficult to place together to be pleasing to the eye. Make items vivid and patterns that are rich, and full of color.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I would nice to have real curtains, make them like short banners and bedpsreads to drop over the bed models to change colors. Make rugs in simple patterms in colors that go with items already here. Add those things that make a house home... allow pictures of characters in scenes of the land. Add on fireplaces (what I would not give for a river rock fireplace...sighs), and baskets of knitting, musical instruments, privies, screens, gleaming copper bathtubs, couches, religious icons, paintings and small altars, and trophy heads of beasties.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>A fire object would be nice too , something we could place for a flame that is NOT a sconce or torch, make it bottom, side or back mountable. Provide better sources of light to warm the dark corners. Make chandeliers hang correclty in 2 story spaces.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Let us paint walls, and brick. Make the floor scheme carry over stairways. Or allow us to cover them with stair runners.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Give us plants and flowers and vegatable gardens, window gardens to tend. Make same pens for us to corral pets. Make beds we can have them STAY asleep in. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Galya Ilyse'Hedeon</DIV> <DIV>Paragon </DIV> <DIV>Order of Marr</DIV> <DIV>Warden/Decorator</DIV> <DIV>Lucan DLere</DIV>

<DIV>Unfortunately, there are no "food items" in the game. You can improvise with the marble and alabaster eggs they are sort of "fruitish" although not colorful.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>As far as the plants, the option I took was to create an alt and do the highelf and halfelf newbie quest in Qeynos. You of course would have to sneak into Freeport with your alt to place the item in your house, and when you move, either the alt has to reclaim the plant or you will lose it. Right now though, those are about the best options.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Vendibles Valuables</DIV> <DIV>61 Carpenter</DIV> <DIV>Guk</DIV>

I've placed on top "a mushroom circlet" (collection reward from Bloodline chronicles, pieces or finished item often available on broker) in one bucket, and the foreground one that looks to be full of potatoes actually has "marble eggs" (carpenter-made). In the right foreground are some jack-o-lanterns with their grinning faces turned away - these were a past holiday promotional item but again show up from time to time on the broker. I'm sure I will develop more ideas for kitchen stuff since I'm now starting to level up a provisioner and will be cooking in this space! <div></div>
