As artist's are never done, neither is my house, but I have finally gotten around to taking screenshots, editing them and posting them. Hope you enjoy - all comments appreciated!Oh, I like clunky image stitching, so prepare to scrooooll. =DWe enter into the Great Room, with my trusty seller mule Aarinea to the right, work-in-progress of rare paintings and rugs and oh yeah, still need another feysteel cluster =P, a peak into the dining room and a restful nook:From the other side of the room, looking back at a very stern Aari (math is not her strong point) and the front door:Above Aari and the front door is my pride and joy....THE CHAIR GALLERY! Many AB crafters have their wares on display here (whether they know it or not):We're gonna pass the upstairs room that is behind us in the previous shot - it's boring. Couple of beds, yadda yadda. Oh and the hallway behind us has some pictures - woo. Moving on...To the library! Yes, Viriginia, you *can* use briarwood/vale bookcases for books! To note: yes, that's the starter Halas picture behind that funky T6 mirror. I don't like either the mirror nor that picture, but together, it's kinda weird and interesting...and it fits the space, so I went for it. =)LOVE cedar bookcases. Buy them - all shelves work. /nodMoving upstairs, we have the Hero's Arena. To my knowledge, I and my fiance are the only two who have battled here and I kicked his paladin butt! Go me!At the far end, is the score keeper's table and recovery pool...Aaaaallll the way back down to the Great Room, here's that little nook; book and cup of tea not included, unfortunately.Into the dining room, my attempt at fireplace thievery (you'll recognize it from the fireplace thread - kudos to the originators!)...My dining room...wha?!....Nicky! Get off the furniture!....that dang cat....Sue me, I love alder chairs...To downstairs.....which I stitched together as one big picture and I didn't want all readers to have to download, so here is just a link to...The bears! That's it! Stop by if you'd like...I promise the dogs won't sniff your crotch and the cats won't shed on you. =)

Message Edited by Chenier on 01-14-200610:22 PM

Message Edited by Chenier on 01-19-200610:58 PM

Hehe, thanks. No, my fiance's idea of "decorating" is to put whatever he just got for the house on the game table in the Great Room and say "honey, I put X on the table for you" and to scowl when I'm moving bookcases (insert much swearing over books).Soup...yeah, I guess soup could be a problem...but I love those warped oak tables.Who am I kidding?! We have no soup bowls in game! No soup for joo! /soup [Removed for Content] =)

*sigh* WHY didn't i check out this post BEFORE doing that very same fireplace yesterday??

the original posters pic of it didn't show the bottom, but that was my assumption, a long ornate shelf..i used two, to better hide the boar tusks....But I also did mine on the 1-roomer wall between the two little windows, So I needed a few more bookcases for the "chimney" part.....and I think I like yours better

While thats a dang nice amount of rare furniture elsewhere.....I can see that the bear rugs are still necessary to reduce status cost? Guess I'd better get my carpy goin on those now, even tho it'll be a few months till i get a 5 roomer....

50k status is more than you think. I wish I had tallied up how much I had before I bought the 5 room as I had to scramble (i.e., harvest t5 like crazy and hire a carpenter to make all those rugs) so that my rent was only high for one week.Fireplaces are pain. This is the second one I've done, same type, but I need to redo the whole thing because on the left hand side, a little "fire" leaks out. =PIt is made from:1 small ash ornate table OR a small alder militia table2 long ornate shelves2 standard ash bookcases2 teak bookcases2 boars heads1 thexian wine rackpatience =P

I LOVE your house! That fireplace is really terrific. I may steal that idea for a 2-room house that one of my characters has.Edited to say: Oh, I just saw your trail of bears. WOW, that's a lot of bears!

Message Edited by Galldora on 01-17-200611:36 AM

Thanks all for the nice comments. =DAnd 2 boars heads...on the walls down low, in the corner, kinda facing each other. Did it so that there was "more fire" in there.

Thats awesome great setup. I'm buying my 5-room this week and just spent the last 2 weeks and one 14 stretch making 100 bearskin rugs lol. I've been perusing these forums like crazy to get decorating ideas.

Wow, Chenier, that's quite an honor! Congratz! As I told you in my previous post, I really want to use your fireplace design (or something similar) in a two-room apartment for one of my characters. Would you mind telling me, please, what you used for that top piece?

very neat, I'm still in the cramped (and getting more so as I put more junk in there) 1 room inn. quick question do bears just run in fear from you now? Or do they just urinate on themselves in fear and realize their a rug the next day :smileyvery-happy:

Thanks, Howlingwolf. Now I see, the top part of the bookshelf is just sticking up thru the ceiling. I had been thinking that was the shape of the bookshelf.

I was thinking since I need to rebuild it that I would take screenies along the construction and post them as a "how to build a fireplace" tutorial maybe...will try to do that tomorrow or this weekend. =)Yes, bears fear me...kind of like othmirs used to. :smileyvery-happy:

Oops, sorry - I just reread page one where you said you might redo the fireplace and give assembly instructions - I apologise, this wasn't meant to sound like a chivvy post. I'll try to be more patient, I promise! :smileyvery-happy:
