Why was an "x" added to my alts name?

If "Jumpy" is no longer taken, just do /rename Jumpy<div></div>

Is the /rename feature something you can do just because of the merger, or could you (can you) always do this?  I have a character whose name I've been wanting to change.Thanks.<div></div>

<div></div>I think the /rename only works if you moved your character and it was renamed or a gm renamed you.  It's been there for awhile (since LU 13) far as I know.

It's only available to those renamed due to moves or mergers.<div></div>
