<DIV>Hello.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So a bunch of lvl 50's apparently copied over from another server (mistmore?) and the they seem to be associated with the guild Fires of Heaven.  Before I say anything, welcome to test <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />  However, it has caused a flurry of rumors as to why there are level 50's about, why they get to "copy" not "move," etc.  As you can imagine there is much drama in the land of make believe, so before anyone starts forming an opinion and flying off the handle, is there anyone from FoH or from Sony who mind giving us a heads up to whats really happening?  Thanks</DIV>

<DIV>It's not unheard of for the guys in development to bring over some high lvls from time to time for some specific testing of a zone or whatnot. Nothing I'm going to worry about for now at least.</DIV>

When they made the server they commented that they would do this when they needed focused Testing. The biggest complaint I heard was from folks who were transferred over, unhappy that they did not get the copy option. We should expect them to do whatever they feel they need to do. I am sure they will work as long as it is viable to protect our community too.~Eva

<DIV>EQ Test had numerous copies of high level guilds in its earlier days for testing as well, it is not realistic to expect SOE to wait for the "locals" to level up to be able to test higher level raid content. After a while, once we have some viable and stable raid orgs, this won't need to be done anymore  (most likely).</DIV>

<DIV><FONT size=2>The only level 50 I have seen (other than GMs) on the entire server is a single fellow that /movelogged at 49, and then ground exps up to 50th.  Doing a /who fires all has never shown me several 50s.  Guess I missed all the excitement.</FONT></DIV><p>Message Edited by Corlin on <span class=date_text>03-14-2005</span> <span class=time_text>03:10 AM</span>

<DIV>It's true we only have 1 level 50 atm.  Also a level 46 and 2 43's.  The the level 50s they are talking about are from a guild on Mistmoore that were copied over to the Test server.  For what exact reason I'm not sure about at the moment, besides the obvious fact of testing raid content.  I found out about a week and a half ago.  The only times I've seen them on are when the live servers are down or late at night when the adv pack went live on test.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <P><SPAN class=time_text></SPAN> </P><p>Message Edited by Eelyen on <span class=date_text>03-14-2005</span> <span class=time_text>09:57 PM</span>

Some of my old guildies (Triton/Harmonium) from EQ1 say they get copied to test for specific encounters or something everyone once in a while. I saw the 50's last week on /who. Said hi in a tell or two and went on with other things. Wish I could add more.

<DIV>The guild was Fires of Heaven.  Again, this guild in question has had a very, very long history with all forms of SOE/EQ (989 Studios, Verant Interactive, Sony Online Entertainment).  They probably have more active members that have been testing the Everquest genre on more platforms then SOE has employees still around from 1998 when this all began.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>These copied characters will likely never ever be played on a regular basis.  If you see one online outside defined, targetted testing, it probably means live servers are down and they are killing time until its back up again.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Test Server atm does not have the proper mix, levels, or gear to test some very specific ad very difficult endgame content.  This is content you just cant buff Joe Blow up to level 50 for and ask him to test.  You need solid, well working guilds/organizations, with structures already in place to perform some very targeted content, specific to only those particular types of guilds/orgs.  This is in no way taking away from Test or its community.  This is content we, as a whole, can not test.  We simply just dont have the tools in place to help SOE refine this one small aspect of the game.  Hence, you bring in the 'big boys' to do teh dirty work for a short, limited time.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Its just far more efficient and productive from a development stand point to use these people from time to time.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Gherig McComas</DIV> <P>Message Edited by Aethn on <SPAN class=date_text>03-14-2005</SPAN> <SPAN class=time_text>05:34 PM</SPAN></P><p>Message Edited by Aethn on <span class=date_text>03-14-2005</span> <span class=time_text>05:36 PM</span>

Well all in all I do think that by the next action pack release we as test players will have enough lvl 50's to test such content. After all we are not talking about the huge number of people it took to do end game content on EQ. I know of at least one guild on test that is going to be doing all raid content. I will not worry to much this time simply because we do not have the numbers to test at that stage in the game but if it happens often then that will be a big let down on us The Testers since there are quite a few of us that would be more then willing to give play time for a raid test time any day. I also do not care much for the copy's of lvl 50's to be left here after there test is finished. If they want to play here when there servers are down then they can feel free to start at the begining like the rest of us had to.

And if they did, what guild were they in? I played there for about 4 years or more and was in the guild Primal Brood . I might know some of these guys from there :smileyhappy:<BR>

Later on TSF performed that task and were buffed as needed to take on particularly tough encounters.
