<DIV>I don't mean to be an [FAAR-NERFED!], but I am honestly curious what kind of thought proscess when into deciding the sellback prices of heritage items?  Honestly.  Just curious to hear what you were thinking beause its quite obvious it is severly flawed.  The only way to repair the damage now is to rollback the servers.  I did shiny brass halberd today, in about 3 hours.  Killed mostly greys (a few greens here and there).  I sold a useless 2h weapon back to the merchant for 20 plat.  20 plat is roughly 10 times the ~2 plat I had on all my toons combined.  I have a lvl 38 alchemist, 37 woodworker, and a 34 warlock.  It would be faster money to level to 30 and do that quest than it would be to try and make money the old fashioned way.  When I get home tongiht, the guild and I are off to do some more heritage quests, so we can each have about 100pp each to.... do whatever with.  I guess destroy whatever remnants there were of an economy.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>OH, one more thing.  Emerald leather that you quest for in Zek is not only better than pristine crafted leather, it is better than regular quality chain.  CHAIN!!!!  and roughly the same (better stats) than the pristine chain.  On the quest for the emerald leather, most of it you only have to run around and do... no need to even kill things.  This isn't an isolated issue either.  Tons of drops are new considerably easier to get and way better than crafted goods.  Last I heard you were wanted to make crafted stuff more desirable.  This seems like a step in the opposite direction.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Again, I'm not trying to be snyde, but this came from waaaaaaaaay out of left field and was wondering what the direction was?</DIV>

If it is broken a rollback would be the only fix at this time. Because of course anyone who made the 20 plat is not going to feel to badly about it, but the people who didn't sure as heck are. And so if this is way off, and a fix is slow in coming, I would love to spend 20 plat--but would understand if they fixed it.If.If it isn't broken, it is because they are much harder to do on live. More competition. Repairing the heritage items costs a fortune.

We don't have an economy anyways, so there isn't anything to ruin.. and it will definately help our server that to date.. has been pretty cash poor in general. I sold my SBH, I did the quest for the guild points and as a wizzy.. it was 100% useless to me. With the plat, I bought a horse.. there went half of it right off the server, within minutes and no negative effect on anyone. The rest of it, will fund crafting and allow me to have a bit of fun with my apartment.. neither of which has any negative fallout that I can see. But hey, if they do a rollback, I will be more ticked about all the XP I will be losing and the couple of pain in the behind quests I finished or progressed in than the plat I will be lossing.. although that would be a bummer, since for the first time since playing, I don't feel like I have to work the game like a job to stay afloat.</DIV>

But for what it is worth, I and most of the rest of the players, pretty much missed out on every single similar thing that ever happened on EQ Test, and life went on after each time it happened. Most never had bad feelings other than a day or two of "Man I wish I had been able to play that day and made a AA per kill like everyone who played got!" type remorseful thinking. I am sure the players here are mature enough to handle it in a similar manner.<BR></P>

I can tell you I have heard of the vast amounts made. I made 20 plat on the sbh--which I shared with those who could not do the quest. But if there had been a rollback I would have supported it. I can say I will continue that vein of generosity, and hopefully others will as well. It is great to be able to buy a Thexian Black Cat for myself, but it was greater to give money away for others to spend. So, I am not rich..in that respect. But I have friends. As I said in another post, the money was swag, but the friends are wealth.Mentoring is GRAND.<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

<DIV>Mentoring ROCKS!  I've heard about a few bugs, but I had a blast playing with that this weekend.  However, on the issue at hand, I think my concerns can be summed up in two points:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1)  I think it is a valid and worthwhile goal to promote a stable and functioning economy on the test server, as it will be the best way for us to determine how economic changes will affect live.  Not that I think anything malicious will happen here with the good people on test (everyone has horses now <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />) but I am concerned by the fact that gold has little value as of now.  For instance:  if I put some T4 woodworker goods up for sale at 1g, are they selling because they are good and needed items, or are people buying them because they have tons of cash and they want a placeholder til they can go find better dropped goods?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>2)  The negative impact this patch will put yet more un-needed thorns into the side of crafters.  Not allowing crafters to break even (I know they keep saying that you break even, but you don't because they refuse to consider fuel costs to make chems) was rough on us when we can't sell our goods because dropped stuff is better.  Allowing adventurers to find that better dropped stuff more easily without improving the value and competitiveness of crafted goods is another blow to crafters.  If you think about it, it's a bit of a slap in the face to say "you can't sell back your goods at cost because it unbalances the economy, but you can sell back your SBH for 20pp."  I mean, its ok if it is difficult and expensive to make high level pristine items now, but if that is the case they need to be worth making.</DIV>

<DIV>The prices on the heritage items were set 100x too high and were selling for plat instead of gold.  This has already been fixed and checked in.  No worries, they won't be selling for <EM>that</EM> much on live servers. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>
