View Full Version : Lavastorm Boat Access Quest... is that it?

I don't believe the Lavastorm boat access quest is working as intended.I suspect fires are supposed to start, which require us to put them outwith the water bladders that drop... but at the moment fires never start.As such the water jugs pile up and the quest simplifies to killing goblins over and over again until the named spawns.It seems easier than it was perhaps intended to be.

<DIV>I agree.  Not to mention there is no communication to be had with the NPC like there was with the NPC's on the Everfrost and Feerrott boats to start the quest.  From my testing exeprience, all you need to do is survive the waves of mobs and you get access, only problem is after you are done with the boat ride you can't hail the NPC (from what I recall) forcing you to camp or evac off. Unlike Everfrost and Feerrott, there are no steps to be taken before doing the boat ride for the access.  If it is just going to be a boat ride then I would strongly suggest changing the difficulty on the boat and making those water jugs more useful to actually put out actual fires rather than end up with 50+ jugs sitting on the deck of the boat <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

On a similar note, is the Zek boat instance working properly as well? From the text given, it implies that we are supposed to destroy the grappling hooks that come aboard, but whenever I kill the hooks and the orcs guarding them they respawn almost instantly.From the way the quest was worded I'd assume that killing the grappling hooks would reduce the number of waves, but it doesn't seem to. All we did was kill the waves of orcs and wait for the named.

<DIV>I think you have to kill them all. When I did it I was running around killing them while the group kept the mobs off me but I couldnt kill em fast enough. Once we got some DPS killing em they died fast enough to clear em before they respawned. We also didn't kill the orcs at the hooks before the hooks which seemed to slow the respawn.</DIV>

<DIV>I've done the Zek boat about 4 or 5 times and never once had the killing of the harpooners or harpoons affect the outcome. Just 3 waves plus the named wave and that's all you really have to kill. Did it once when the harpooners were gray; didn't even touch those the whole time.</DIV>

Did it once when the harpooners were gray; didn't even touch those the whole time.</DIV><hr></blockquote>That only works if the mobs are grey (you have a level 30+ in the group) , if they are green (I did this when my group ranged between 25-27) then you must kill the harpoons or harpooner orc groups will constantly re-pop and agro on you .
