I havent' looked much into it, but for some reason my Test Server startup client (TestEQ2.exe) insists on downloading and storing all its files in c:program filesalcohol softalcohol 120Of course my TestEQ2.exe client is in D:gameseverquest IItestserver and the testeq2.exe file stays there (it doesn't download a new copy of itself to the other dir)Now, someone explain that one to me I havent' delved into the registry yet for values, but I find it very odd that it somehow chose that dir to use out of everywhere else.My normal EQ client works fine and downloads in the right place.

Otherwise, I dunno [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] you are talking about, but I do take a large offence to you accusing me of anything illegal.
Anyway, I do CS stuff for a living so I know a lot about them, so it isn't a virus or spyware and how would it cause that anyway. Spyware is out to steal your info and make money, not make files download into the wrong directory. I messed around and figured it out (was bored). It was indeed Alcohol's and Windows' fault (well, maybe EQ for not checking to see if it is in the right directory before doing anything). Whenever you put a shortcut on the start menu (Pin it) from the direct testeq2.exe it didn't quite have a start-up directoy so it just went with whatever the current one was, which Alcohol insists on it being its directory.Simple fix was create a shorcut to the exe and then pin that shortcut.
Message Edited by Nivisec on 12-21-2004 09:29 AM

I never intended to be offending! Sorry, if you felt that way.
