<DIV>While the reaction icons no longer con red, they end up conning grey almost immediately as there is no "mastery" value tied to culinary on these icons.(only a "required to use" value)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The artistry skill still has very infrequent skill-ups, and I figured the "trivial" state of these icons may be a reason.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Another issue with the icons, 2 out of the 3 (of the newbie icons anyway) have no power cost at the moment.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The Stove/Keg does not cause power or health drain on failure to react in a timely manner also.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I /bugged all of these, but figured I may as well post them here also.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I am only at level 8 atm...(need to start adventuring to fund myself <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> ) so I am unaware of the status of the other 6 icons at the moment.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV><p>Message Edited by Genthiel on <span class=date_text>12-17-2004</span> <span class=time_text>04:42 PM</span>

At artisan level you only get skillups from completing a recipe.

<DIV>"Artistry" is a skill used by Provisioners and Craftsman.(or so it says under the skill description)  It has an issue with rarely advancing for Provisioners, but for the other craft classes it advances more rapidly.  (I didn't get it near the cap on live till my mid-20s as a provisioner)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>Just one more provisioner thing...not as important as the above stuff, but:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Recipes that call for refined components do not link to the refine recipe like most other subcombines are linked.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>(If a recipe has a subcombine of marjoram, you have to cancel out of the current recipe and browse your recipe list for refine marjoram rather than just clicking on the icon next to the text in the recipe for that component)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

Unless the icon specifically says that it lowers power, it should not have a power cost. That is not a bug.Example: An art that is supposed to take power says it raises progress 'by a medium amount', but lowers power 'by a medium amount' and then displays a power cost.Meanwhile another art says it raises progress 'by a small amount', but lowers durability 'by a small amount'. This one is not supposed to take power (as it doesn't say in the description) and is working as intended.

<DIV>My mistake.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I figured with the snafu with the other data being left out, it may have been the same deal.  Thanks for the correction.</DIV>

<DIV><FONT size=2>I had no trouble raising my artistry skill very quickly at 10 (when you get the craftsman buffs). The Tier 1 buffs for all trades don't raise skill, making it very difficult to do anything high-quality at Tier 1 until you reach 10... at which point you don't want Tier 1 anyway.</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>They do raise skill.  I have seen a couple raises on test before level 10.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>On live they raised very slowly also...it was the amount of food/drink I had to make in my mid 20's which eventually got it up(with the xp slowing down).  Perhaps this is intentional?...I don't know, but I doubt it.  Other skills pretty much will cap off each level if you use them.  With crafting (as I'm sure you know), the only way to advance is using those skills over and over again.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If you can't advance it up to your level range until being way above that level, then what good is it?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>I still cannot see where the button do much at all.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I made up 40 spices with my level 8, 20 with using the buttons and 20 without touching.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>And yes, I know that is too small a sample size - but the difference was very little that I could see. I had less than level 4 on 7 of the one where I pushed buttons, and 8 on the one where I did not.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>And in making around 200 food items, up to level 12, I think I have gotten ONE skill up.</DIV>
