Very nice. It's too bad that the current EQ2 practically kills my computer and video card :smileymad:

It would be a nice feature but if they dont have use the graphic engine today because of the people PC's specs, then it will be a long long long time till we get something like that but a very good possilbity to keep the engine fresh.

What's so special about the picture? The stupid glow in the windows (Tron 2.0 already has this) the reflections in objects (Deus Ex)?

Here, maybe this will help to shed some light on the technology (the pun is very much intended).

This is a Half-Life 2: Lost Coast HDR video. Watch it a couple times to find the subtle differences that I believe will ultimately result in a more immersive in-game experience.

Enjoy!

http://www.gamesxtreme.net/pc/game/halflife-2/news-2176.shtml

Message Edited by Phylicus on 12-09-2005 01:41 PM

All HDR is, simulating a light shade on your eyes. For example when you are indoors and its dim and then you walk out to get the mail. A huge burst of light reflects off of your eyes to other things, then your eyes form to fit that current setting. So as of right now H2: LC is really the only game that uses it. It is a neat feature but...i think that isnt a big "thing" the devs need to do. I mean half of the people on this forum cant even play Eq2 on medium settings...be happy to have what you got with this power house engine. And soon they will update it to compete with the other MMo's and maybe you will see in the update notes: "Added HDR lighting" :smileyhappy:
