look at the detail in the chainweave on his arms, then look at the blurred half-rate texture on his pants...*sigh* texture artists should be more consisted, this is supposed to be the highest-rate graphically demanding MMORPG out there....Pics look alright =)nothing i dont see on my puter, but they do look pretty!

they would look better if you took the compression off via in game options

second to last shot, awsome, looks like Huma and Magus fighting alongside each other, those unfamiliar with Huma he was a Solamniac Knight in Dragonlance who helped defeat the Queen of Darkness in the early ages, he fought alongside the most powerful wizzard on Krynn at the time, Magus (not sure if im spelling that right) and Magus's staff found its way to Raistilin Majere (everyones favorite evil b*stard twin)

<DIV>Llew,</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Where is this texture compression option you speak of?  Are you refering to the Texture resolution or model detail?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Oh, and i'm reading the Dragonlance Chronicles as we speak. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />  Good to hear you mention characters i am currently reading about.  I didn't even think about it, but yes, i see the correlation.. although i don't know who Humus is.. wouldn't it be his Raistlan's brother? </DIV><p>Message Edited by Creag on <span class=date_text>02-12-2005</span> <span class=time_text>08:26 AM</span>

its to do with the rate of compression for screenshots, noth ethe in game textures, there is an option in the form of a slider bar that increases or decreases screenshot compression, i always take mine off as the in build in compression is a poor one. If i compress i tend to use photsohop. BTW awesome pics

No, Huma was one of the Legendary heroes before the catalsyms and before the main hereos times, he was a Knight and was a inspiration to Sturm Brightblade, also Knight of Solamnia.

<DIV>My settings have not changed since both sets of shot were taken,, but thanks to Llew i turned off the jpeg compression... making the shots look OH SO MUCH crisper <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV><BR>I am running an MSI NF3 Fx55 ATIX800XT (non oc or watercooled) on a Koolance rig.  My cpu is overcloced to 2.7 (almost 2.8 <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> )  and 2gig of memory.  oCZ 3200</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Fraps showed an average of 25 fps.. in open spaces its around 30 solid fps.. in Freeprot (n. freeprot is the most laggy) i get around 20-30fps depending on the time of play.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Either way, game is nice and smooth and NEVER a SLIDE SHOW.  Slide shows make me frustrated. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

<DIV>Yes these shots were snapped while playing.  I tinker with the settings though. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> till i get ti JUST RIGHT.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I have the texture and lighting resolution all the way up, model detail all the way up and shadows and LIghting set to Average. Within Shadows i have everything checked and within lighting i have everything all the way up EXCEPT for Max player tourches i keep it at one because its a major performance sink.  I also have the atmospheric effects off.. as i don't care much for the blurry look when Bloom is enabled. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> As far as puter specs, here you go.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Koolance PC201 Black Case</DIV> <DIV>Antec Neo power 480 PSU</DIV> <DIV>MSI Neo2 Platinum Nforce 3 250 chipset</DIV> <DIV>AMD Fx55 @ 2.7</DIV> <DIV>2 gb OCZ 3200 ddr</DIV> <DIV>ATI X800XT PE 256mb (not overcloced or watercooled)</DIV> <DIV>Creative Audigy 2</DIV> <DIV>Sony DVD rom</DIV> <DIV>TDK Cdrw 52X</DIV> <DIV>Western Digital 60gb HD with 8mb cache</DIV> <DIV> </DIV><p>Message Edited by Creag on <span class=date_text>02-15-2005</span> <span class=time_text>03:12 PM</span>

<DIV>Very.. very nice pics. Will make sure to send my friends playing WoW a couple *grins*</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I upgraded from a 9800 to a X800 XT Plat two days ago, and just that alone as meant a jump from high performance to tweak up high quality in towns.</DIV> <DIV>I've not looked into these F55 or whatever CPUs. I have a 3400+. It's a big step up from that? I have the 64bit version and mobo, or whatever hehe.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I really need to do some research, so out of the loop.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Creag, very nice mate, congrats <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

<DIV><FONT color=#ffffff>Honestly, if you have a 3400 dude, your good.  If you oc it you could prolly get it to fx55 speeds <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />.  Don't mess with it though if your not 100% comfortable with it.  Overclocking isn't for everyone.  If you really want to see some improvement, THINK DOWN THE ROAD.</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Start saving your money now and buy the next AMD fx or INTEL ee.  Either will give you a nice jump, but your x800xt plat is gonna last you a while. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />  Sit back and enjoy the ride.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks for the kind words.</DIV>
