Lucky break starts an heroic opptunity that will either give you:1) A damage move (Ringing Blow)2) An okay buff (Swindlers luck) for 6min3) A really nice buff (Bravos Dance) for 6min. This one is quite rareWell worth using as each one increases your overall damage. When you start the Lucky Break a wheel pops up, and a button will flash (indicating which move is required next in the sequence). Solo you need 2 moves linked together to execute the combo, in groups you require more, but thats another ball game all together for now...Happy questing

the button should be flashing on your hotbar, but iirc, the start of the sequence is a lowdamge/(support/debuff) move (such as torture or cheapshot) the second part of the combo is a damage move... maybe thats not wholly true all the time, but I think it is, never really thought about it too much to be honest, its become second nature to me...

Its all considered a heroic opportunity.... The main reason to use them is for the rare buffs - but usually you get some extra damage out of them. You will often find players while in a group saying someone finish that HO!!! that means - click one that is flashing. That is the "dummy" way of explaining it - and how it was explained to me. The person who gave you the line up had it about right --- you can also play with it and modify it as you grow older. You will be able to pull off a few others also - I have found that it is usually the scout who runs with the HO's. Just my expierence nothing else.

My assassin is only lvl 44 but I use HO's whenever I can. They can make a HUGE difference while Soloing also.

the boot, cup, etc. are only symbols. The flashing Combat Arts are the ones that will progress the "wheel" even further. I went out on some grey or green mobs and played with it till I had an HO progression set up on my hot bar that I could start every fight with.

One other tip is when in a group use your Hate Transfer ( and OMG I can hear Tig and Skr calling me a noob right now cuz I can't remember what it is called ) on your tank. This will transfer a %-age of the hate you create to your tank making it easier for him to keep aggro. Also try and keep using your Evade and Shadow line - it will help ya keep the aggro down.

Here is how I have my hotbars set up to give you an idea. Works for me - may or may not work for you.

Sorry if I confused you more. Hope this does help though.

Message Edited by Kimage on 06-26-2006 03:02 PM

lets keep hotbar discussion to the hotbar thread...Heroic Opportunities are used (Soloing) for extra damage as you are using buffs and skills you would use anyway for a little extra damage output, ringing blow and bravado's dance are the most noticable, swindlers is ok, but you dont get it too often (and you can change it if you want it)to edit for further clarification:lucky break adds a concurrent sequence of skills so that you can do extra damage, while still maintaining your regular dps output. For assassins it's particularly necessary as our big damage attacks come from behind, and we only have 1 chance every 20s to hit a skill (when cheapshot is up) and only at the start of the fight vs stun immune mobs.Lucky Break gives players a chance to do extra damage using a sequence of skills, to enhance dps output, and with assassin toe-to-toe skills on long timers, and few and far between this small advantage can make or break a fight.Try to use 'useful' skills (eg: cheap shot then backstab then finish the HO once the mob has turned, then use moor/ensnare line or the mit debuff along with cut/impale/ etc)using skills like evade wont help you much soloing, as the mob only has 1 person on the list - you :]

Message Edited by bieb on 06-27-2006 08:52 AM
