All right I have a lvl 24 Half Elf Assasin. And Im torn between doing the chain mail quests ( custom fitted armor) or the vassi light armor quests. The chainmail will give me almost 800 mitigation self buff in defence but drop my evasion to well under 50% or should I go the light armor route which would trade mitigation for evasion. If i could get the opinion from some higher lvl assasins this would be cool. I have done the medium armor quest already on my current server but will be switching to a pvp server and am undecided what armor to go with. Thanks a bunch in advance for any advice.

I personally use med armor. You will get agro, trust me on this, so you need all of the ac that you can get. Avoidence is nice, but if the mob gets a hold of you then you are screwed. Also always remember to turn on defensive mode when you get agro, it will up your avoidence and you won't do as much dmg so the tank should be able to get the mob off of you, and remember that evade/(hide evade) are your friends.

Yeah Thats what I figured but i was just checking. I definatly know I get aggro. I just got my assasins blade technique along with the ability to Master2 it which I did. When i do 1.3k dmg my tank a lvl 28 Shadow knight has trouble pulling aggro. I have to use my evade then he has to fake death me to get aggro back. He gets kinda annoyed but cant say anything since i just took have the mobs HP with one swing. I tend to leave defence stance on almost exclusively. Especially when I solo. I find that the perks of that overshadow the perks of my offensive stance.

Medium armor for me, please.

I tank an awful lot more than I thought I would -- both in a group as well as soloing. I had no problems taking down 56 ^^^ heroics in Silent City and Living Tombs with a templar my level, and we were getting fantastic XP at the same time. I carry a legendary 1H weapon and legendary round shield for situations where I need maximum avoidance. With a mix of Adept III self buffs and defensive stance, and my ironwood round shield, I usually sit around 61.5% avoidance at 57, and 2200 mitigation with all cobalt chain.

It has been a long time since I did these quests but I was under the impressiom that Vassi would not speak to anyone of the incorrect classes. So maybe your question is a moot point. If it has changed then my nod is still for medium. As others have said, avoidance is nice, but when you get aggro I would rather have the damage mitigated than hope I avoid it.

Sark on behalf of Slaene.

Edited for spelling.

Message Edited by Sarkoris on 02-21-200610:14 AM
