I have noticed that heavy armors decrease your avoidance. Since my avoidance is VERY high with ight armors, wouldnt light armors be the way to go with the assasin? And what light armor is best? I was thinking tier 3 rare inbued armor, but maybe there is a drop or quest armor with better stats? Let me know what yall think. PS: Any predators looking at this, adept 3 open shot was the best choice I made. I have A3 shadow blade and back shot, but the long timer on those negates its usefulness, especially when soloing. Also, poisons are a MUST have.

This is somethig I am wondering myself. I personally, and going with leather on my assassin. One, I have a tailor and can make it, two, I don't think assassins (or rangers) should even be allowed to wear chain, and three, I like the avoidance.

My assassin isn't well armored right now. Level 24 and I am wearing a few level 10 crafted peices, and a lot of level 20 vendor junk pieces. I haven't gotten around to actually making any armor, but I am doing pretty [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] well. My avoidance is 44% defencively buffed, which would probably be higher if I had better armor and agility bonuses. That's almost on par with my monk in full offencive mode, and I'm rarely defencive on my monk. While I only have 19% absorption due to crappy armor, good leather armor is more around the 25% mark. If you avoid most attacks in the first place, that's pretty descent.

I think armor after the update is more flexable. I'm going to be trying a Berserker and wear things other than Plate armor to see if more avoidance helps, at this point it's just a theory for me since my Berserker is still a warrior at this point, heh. I'd like to try my monk in Cloth armor one day as well as an interesting test.

But the best I can say, is get a set of leather and a set of chain and try them both out. I've noticed that avoidance tends to get higher towards the end of a level and then drops once you level. Try to test the armor out inbetween mini-dings when your skill cap goes up, and have your defencive skills maxed before you really do any armor swaping so you can really get the best idea.

Before the updates I went for the biggest mitigation armour I could find. Now after the updates im not so sure whats best.

I want to wear leather armour as its more "fitting" for a sneaky about class, but if it means not being able to kill anything due to mitigation then we are kinda forced to wear other types :/ Im currently wearing bits and bobs of both.

The problems im finding is that im not sure how well our avoidance is working. What do the numbers mean? It says 40% plus but does that mean we dodge the attack 40% of the time? Surely not as it depends on the attacker also?

Since we dont have big enough armour to take hits, the avoidance to avoid them, or the hps, I find most multi encounters almost impossible to tackle (simply the damage taken per second is way too much) yet I see other classes take them out without breaking a sweat.

At the moment Im finding a group of 4 even blue (at 51) con mobs (guards in majdul) are too much and I can only take down 1 or 2 before im dead or have to run while they beat me to death. Yet 2 seconds later I see plate classes killing 4 yellow ^ mobs and then move onto the next set without even taking a breath.

Is avoidance on par with mitigation?

I am trying for bets of both worlds now.

Went with chain first but noticed it did not have stat increases I wanted so I went with Rare leather. Nice stats but hard to solo in.

Now they are dropping chain with AGI and STR on it...so that is my new collection of armor I am trying.
