i'm a ratonga and i love being a rat. that said i do not think they are a good min/max class as someone said earlier. once agility gets over 200, the amount it increases your power pool isn't terribly significant. strength affects how hard your CA's and autoattack hit. it also seems that the combat revamp will increase the role of strength in determining damage even further. i'd say the most balanced race for a scout right now in terms of stats would be a kerra. any race however can be an effective assassin. <div></div>

Wood Elf here... but after actually playing the game nearly a year, i'da gone rat, but then i couldn't have betrayed. Oh, maybe my next alt I'll double betray. mmm... double. but Woodie and rat totaly the best out there, us woodies are rare, and why make a High elf, when we get the illusion at 40? =P

Rats seem to be the most common assassins... probably because of their good starting stats, though those don't have a big impact later on.However, rats do have excellent night vision, which shouldn't be underestimated in value, and of course the twice-an-hour hate losing racial skill.I went wood elf, and enjoy the look, as I already have a rat swashie.

<P>Ratonga works well....my brother's assassin is lvl 35 and he can still, easily, keep his agilty maxed (7Xlvl).</P> <P>The real question is how will you use the assassin?  Do you plan to always group or do you want to solo?  If you want to group specifically you might try going against the grain and making a STR based assassin.  Your avoidance will be lower but who cares...you are going to do the highest damage possible for the class.  The rare Ogre Assassin is always hellah fun to see (My RatZerker gives them big high fives!)  </P> <P>If you plan to solo then you want the best agility possible.  Watching an assassin run with 65% avoidance and taking out yellow mobs without droping out of green health, is a fun sight to see.</P> <P> </P> <P>Race might matter in the long run but if you are adaptable, clever and really put work into your toon, then you can still overcome these obsticles.</P>
