I hit level 60 over the weekend. I love grinding those new writs hehe, and my guild likes me doing it too I am sure

A few things I wanted to share,

Elude Adept I drops on Gazer Island. I have never seen it for sale on Befallen. I did see an Amazing Shot Adept I for sale for over 1pp...for an ADEPT I...must be saving it for an alt.

If anyone knows where that particular adept drops or has been known to drop please post.

Now that I have been looking over the level 60 gear with the desire to reoutfit myself for the new tier...I find myself thinking I should just keep the imbued T6 armor since it is better than anything for sale crafted or otherwise (excluding the relic armor and what not).

How in the world is an imbued rosewood bow worse than an imbued ironwood bow? Please someone tell me? I dont understand why this is so....I assume it has everything to do with the crafting changes coming up...but...does this really mean that I am going to be using my T6 armor and my T6 bow since nothing crafted compares? And I will get the quested items I see eventually anyway...heck...even the rings looked worse.

I found a great alchemist for level 60 poisons....if anyone is on Befallen, look to Posionblade for good pricing and knowledge of his merchandise. I was shocked to get a tell from this player after purchasing poisons. He sent me a tell thanking me! As a carpenter I felt compelled to go back and thank my customers too...except I havent seen those 3 people in ages [Removed for Content]. Yes...I cant make a living as a carpenter :smileysad:

So, t7....what am I overlooking here....poisons, upgrade some items, food....

Any suggestions?

Sai

Grats on 60 man

I think I just said this elsewhere, but *I* would not waste my money / time on crafted xegonite. Certainly not armor; maybe weapons if you're rolling in dough, but you can find some nice Legendary drops in the first T7 dungeon (Sanctum of the Scaleborn, in TT) like Steelrend's Flight Blade and such. The dropped gear in T7 is much better than you've seen in previous tiers. Given that xegonite chain isn't all that much better than cobalt, I might just continue with the cobalt until you find drops / quest rewards that replace it. Just start rockin' those dungeons and you should start getting some nice drops pretty quickly. And what you can't use, you can sell, and buy stuff for yourself - b/c these Legendary drops are more common, there's usually a decent selection on the market.

Grats on 60 Sai!

A really good quested bow to pick up is Grizzfazzles. Quest can be obtained at the Drednever Crash Site in Bonemire.

Like others have said, there is some really good dropped armor, weaps and jewelry in T7 that is much better than the crafted stuff. I highly recommend the Claymore line of quests for some really decent gear. (also a great way to level)

Have fun!

Message Edited by brandi7920 on 06-05-2006 01:11 PM

Work on Claymore line so you don't have to back to SoS later. Once you hit trading information part you'll have seen enough of SoS to never want to go back.

Heh. I hated the last 3 or 4 of the claymore line in SOS. But the rewards after the SOS parts are finished more than make up for any pain you went through in Sanctum. There are several pieces I wear which I doubt will be replaced until T7 fabled drops from raids.

Grizzie's bow sure is nice, but the DR is painful compared to comperable legendary 2H drops. Ow. The best thing that can be said is it's better then Ebony and relatively easy to get once you hit 62 or 63.

It's far better to spend any money you would put into xego into acrylia jewelry replacements. At level 70 I still wear half my acrylia jewelry (I had a full set). Sure, there are no resists or other bonuses, but you want the stats for more damage! Never thought I'd miss dirt-cheap acrylia.

Grats on 60 Sai Xegon is definatly a waste of time as u say but some of the relic aint all bad...apart from having a wisdom bonus for some perverted reason im happy enough with the chestpiece until something better drops...Might not be a huge upgrade from cobalt but my blue-boy smurf patrol days are over hehe Green as a ranger should be by now with the nemesis and relic stuff ...And yeah Grizzfazzles is first order of business hehe

One thing to remember is that you cant wear xegonite or rare crafted T7 leather until lvl 62. The same with the ebony longbow.

Why? I dunno. But you can wear azurite jewlery with pretty good stats at lvl 60

As I just posted in another thread (weird how these go together), I feel the grizzy bow is a better option as a reward. The DR (about 80) is better than anything until T7 raid drops. The DW is actually a better weapon if you just compare the two, but it is very easy to get good dual wield legendary weapons through the T7 instances. There are *no* legendary T7 bows other than grizzy's, nothing with a DR better than Ebony. Clearing T7 instances a few times and you will see some decent DW drops in B.S. and HOF, maybe in Den. You will never see a bow worth swapping that Ebony out for in instances.

The stats are definately inferior on it, no doubt, but they can be replaced. The DR can't until T7 raids.

A good starter place for some Legendary T7 armor is Nest of the Great Egg in Barren Sky. That instance alone you can get a nice hat, forarms and legs from. Think the legs might be leather but they are still better then most anything else you'll find.

grats on 60 sai :smileyhappy:

as for gear: no idea why all think xegonite is crap. ok, doesn't have more mitigation then cobalt, but better stats and better resists. i at least got it, didn't have any better till lvl 62 (at which level it's usable, not 60). maybe i just solo too much and miss out the phat lewt... :smileyvery-happy:
and xegonite chainmail looks cool, which is important too :smileywink:

and btw: rosewood is common crafted. ebony is the rare wood. but same as xegonite stuff: only usable at lvl 62.

as for grizzfazzle: certainly worth getting, but it's only usable at lvl 65. so you either stick with ironwood till then, or maybe you'll get some bow for in-between; but it's probably not worth getting an ebony long bow for the few levels from 62-65. i'm using ghostly bow of bylze, a reward from one of the claymore quests. not an uber-bow, but the damage rating is good.

Message Edited by jarlaxle888 on 06-12-2006 05:01 PM

xegonite is OK. The problem is, it's not a huge upgrade from cobalt (if you have pre-LU24) and all the pieces are easily replaced in T7 by various drops. Why spend the plat, as rangers don't tend to need the gear right away? It'd be different as a tank, but I think you'd be fine with cobalt til you get better drops. I upgraded 2 pieces to get better stats (str) on cobalt pieces that had no str, but if I were doing it again I'd have skipped that.

It'll be very different when cobalt is nerfed. If you have one of the new cobalts, then it would probably be an upgrade.
