Depends on how the player handles the avatar ofc.But if you open the fight , best chances. If u are flatfooded - better run.<div></div>

Rangers are situational in PVP.Exellent ranged dps - poor melee dps.You want to avoid meleeing anything at all costs. That means using all your roots / stun / snaers to try and make / keep distance between you and the target.Lunging Joust - rootCheap Shot - stunVines - snareThorny Trap - root  / snarePoint blank shot - knockbackSnaring Shot - snareSnare poisonsStun poisons - touch of the beholder etcStifle poisons If you can kill your target before he gets to you - all the better. The main trick with rangers in PVP is positioning - get yourself in a position where you don't put yourself withing the direct line of melee attacks. High places to jump from / boost people into the air off high places - falling dmg helps alot !Getting the jump will allmost allways ensure a victory - some cases though things don't allways go as planned - bruiser deflects your main dps CA's , heals up , stunns , roots etc all spell death to the archer.Brigands are probably the hardest classes to fight 1 vs - and in most cases you will die if you don't get your attacks in before he jumps you. They can root you to near standstill speeds , have huges mitigation debuffs ( 4.5k ) , and can stunlock you for the duration of the fight. If i don't land sniper + rain on em , i generally try and hit the road rather quick :>ALLWAYS carry vision totems of the butterfly to track / see stealthed targets.Vs most classes rangers are very effective - mages, scouts , healers etc . Heavy tanks, bruisers , brigands pose most of the threat, and some caution is needed.Overall i like the ranger. Some people might think 1shotting a lvl 70 mage / scout takes no skill , but the trick in it all lies in setting yourself up for that kill.  So many classes have some kind of see invis / stealth ,  snares / stifles / fears / stuns that it gets rather tricky in some places. How a ranger peforms in PVP is totally upto the player handing the "avatar" as nelzon said.<div></div>
