You guys really feel comfortable with the way we are now? Honestly I used to think we were overpowered but now....Dude give me a freakin break, Im whole heartadly conviced that they do not test rangers at all and have no freakin clue how we work, not trying to whine but I dont see how you can be comfortable where we are now./rant off-Viereyl<div></div>

<DIV>My biggest problem is if we are staying like this then they have to do something about the cost. On an average raid I spend near 2pp on supplies. Its just wrong I have to pay that much to be 3-5 on the parses consitatly.</DIV>

<DIV>Unfortunately, it doesn't really matter whether we're comfortable or not. Our DPS isn't going to be changed, we know that. Broken skills and the like may be addressed, but don't hang around hoping for a DPS boost, just do the best you can with the tools you're given. If it isn't fun for you anymore, I'd roll a new toon or check out other games. Enough "good" rangers are hitting decent numbers that we know it's possible; it's just a question of investing the time, money, and AA points. Not an ideal situation, but it's what we have to work with right now. Good luck.</DIV>

MY only advice is: Turn off the parser. Am I happy? NO!! BUT when I keep the parser off, it doesn't really matter. I still enjoy being a Ranger, I do some great damage. I see LOTs of crits flying up, and the mobs die. What more do I need? I have no trouble getting a group. I explore some FANTASTIC looking zones, meet interesting mobs, and KILL them,. What more do I need? Go out, have fun, and for TUNARE'S sake: TURN OFF THE PARSER!!!! <div></div>

I like my parser. <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> My big turning point was less worrying about the parser, but more when I stopped caring about what every other class in the game was doing for DPS. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> But Jay is, as always, right. Our DPS is not getting increased for the time being so it matters very little how anyone feels about it. :smileyvery-happy:

I have to admit that I'm uncomfortable not seeing the data.  I want to know that I'm "pulling my weight," or some such thing, I suppose.  It is a LOT less fun to be so performance driven, though.  My guild loves me (I think) and will keep me around even if I'm not uber l33t tier 1 DPS.  Or, at least they'll keep me around because my breasts are much nicer than Kae's. <div></div>

<DIV>Even if rangers turn off the parsers, raid leaders aren't gonna!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'm reserving final comment on the DPS thing til I max out the AAs and get all geared up, but it's not looking good right now.  Sure Rangers aren't totally broken anymore but we're still sub-par. </DIV>

<DIV>Maxing AE points should not be whats getting us back to decent damage.   Problem is that is how I managed to pull back into the top 4 or 5 on parses.  I should not have to get AE skills (crits) to get to where I should be.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>And I cannot turn off the parser, I report it in our guilds parse channel <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

Generally speaking, in almost all non-raid situations (i.e. groups) parsers are NOT needed to have a good time. Your group can finish heritage quests, XP or whatever else you like to do...and I've done all this and NEVER needed a parser to do it. Anyway, just my opinion. <span>:robothappy:</span></div>

I'm disturbed by the fact that my ranger buddy shells out 2-5p on arrows and poisons just so he can dps well on raids. He still has a hard time keeping up with the summoners and does a good job keeping even with our wizzy's dps about 40% of the time. He has 25 or so aa's(he did the line that has crit), Griz bow, has about 500+ str on raids, bow spells are ad3 or better, mixture of legendary and fabled gear, level 70. <div></div>

It's easy to turn off the parser if you don't raid, but when you do raid, and you know that there is someone who can do your job better then you, and your raid leader knows it too(Raw DPS) its very disconcerting to just be happy where we are, I'm sorry. Kaeros you know I've been a long time ranger, Hell I played one before LU13 Its not a question of being the most uber, its a question of doing what is asked of me, and when I cant fulfill it, I feel very frustrated.-Viereyl<div></div>

<div></div>Woot Tek!That statement needs to be tatooed on every Ranger out there!  Not to down hard-core players but if your parses and DPS rankings are getting in the way of you having fun with this game, then a re-evaluation needs to happen.  I'm the 1st to admit that I'm not the hottest bow on the server but I'm having a lot of fun (of course I came to the game after playing a Smuggler on SWG and a Hunter in DAoC before that so I'm used to being the underdog). <div></div>

<P>For a while, before and after LU #20, I was worked up about this. I was concerned over numbers, a thing I'd never really cared about before, and it was frustrating me to the point where I wasn't having fun anymore. I tried a parser for the very first time, just to see firsthand what was going on. And? I wasn't enjoying the game. </P> <P>Now? I can't say we're where we should be. I think we need some serious looking at, in the way our skills function, in the various skills broken during all the nerfs, and of course, our damage. We're not sunk, but we're still dogpaddling in some areas. All that said, I've decided not to worry about it. Numbers don't matter to me. I got rid of the parser. I don't need to be the top to keep my spot in my guild.</P> <P>For those rangers that are struggling with the numbers in a raid guild setting, I'll gladly add my voice to reasonable attempts to get us looked at. I know you guys don't have the luxury to ignore things like this. But for me, personally? Not comfortable, no, but I've adjusted.</P> <P> </P>

<DIV>Just a comment about raiding parsing...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Imagine if you will this was all real.  After a battle we would sit around and talk about the encounter and how we saw it.  What worked, what didnt.  "My piercing arrows bounced right off the beast but I switched to hunting arrows and hurt him some!"  The parser allows us to see what group structures "worked", what didnt, what resists, how we were attacked (AE types - fire magic etc).  Since we cannot sit around a campfire eating nearly raw meat off the bone we use a parser to give info to the raid leader and the participants.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Now, do I use the parser in non raid?  HELL NO!  I enjoy grouping with my ranger and even soloing to an extent (I hate soloing, I am a very social creature).  Parsers are a bonus thats all.  That and lets the me know when the assassin is slacking since I beat him by a few hundred <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

The costs for poisons(debuffing included), and other things sucks.  Luckly my GF plays a alchemist so I get a discount there.  I'm constantly running out of arrows, which usually is a problem after long raids or instances.  But as you get AA, equipment, masters, and adept3 and if you play your class well you can generally are going be in the top 5 dps at least in a 24 person raid encounters.   I think were in the right spot.  I'm usually the top 3 in my guild on named usually in first too <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />.  Gimme endless quiver aa <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

Hit 'preview post' instead of submit post and then submit it.  Always works.
