I went Woodworker...wasnt a bad idea but if i could rechoose i would go jewler, its great being able to make my own bow, but my own skills would be the pwnage.

Thats a toss up between food/drink and poisons. I spend a LOT of money on drink (about 2gp a pop). I also spend about 12gp each on poisons. One poison could last me a week or I could go through 2 vials a day, I guess it just depends on how much fighting I'm doing. That being said. I went Carpenter. It has nothing to do with being a Ranger, but I love making furniture

I made a scholar. Going to train to be a jeweler. I'm hoping he can profit well enough that profession that buying food, drink and poison won't be much of an issue, but I could be stupidly wrong too. Seemed the the items I sold the most with my monk were scout upgrades.

I have to say Alchie or Provisioner, if you want to take care of yourself. I spend way too much money on poisons.
The cost of everything else can be offset easily by finding your own rares, and anyone can do that. I've been harvesting like a fiend ever since the T6 imbuing went live. I now have my imbued chainmail coat, 2 leafblades, my ironwood longbow, 2 vanadium rings, and a few more rares still parked in the bank. All of the weapons, rings, armor etc. only cost up to 30 gold tops to have them made if you supply the rares. So harvest harvest harvest... and don't jack my node! Maybe we're lucky on Neriak since we have several dedicated crafters, and I've had no trouble tracking down a level 60 woodworker, weaponsmith, armorer or jeweler, and all are friendly and eager to meet the needs of our community.

I hear people constantly complaining about the cost of food & drink. On our server recently the drink prices for tier 5 and 6 have escalated to about 3 gold for a 1 hour beverage. I don't feel the sting of that since I make my own, and tier 4 gets the job done just fine. In fact, never once have had anyone complain about my power regen being slower than others who are drinking 'the good stuff'. Maybe now that tradeskill xp just got a shot in the arm, I'll level my way up to make the T5 drinkage. But anyway...

If I ever roll another crafter, it will be an alchie for sure. Sometimes there's simply no good poisons for sale at all, let alone the good ones.

All this aside, try to find something that sounds like fun. IMO tradeskilling is the most miserable grind in this game, matched only perhaps by harvesting lol. At least I can kill stuff while I'm harvesting.
