<DIV>I have come to the conclusion that our snare lines are perhaps the most useless spells in the game.  [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot], I'd rather have my fancy tiger up..least it gives some atmosphere to the game.  The chance of breaks on the snare are far too high...and on top of this..24 seconds, absolutely useless.   I've had lvl 47 mobs cast ensnare and legshot and last nearly a minute and a half on me...[expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] devs...during this time I am getting the [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] beat out of me and its not breaking.  But lo and behold when I snare and hit the mob once, it's gone.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also, I've watched lvl 50 coercers soloing heroic lvl 52s.  All because they [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot]ed and got their roots fixed.  At least you could make the chance of breaking a little lower.  It's gotta be [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] near 90% chance of breaking when hit now...I think this should be maybe 5% chance of breaking.  Also, the legshot NEEDS to be cast on the move.  IT is absolutely useless as a stationary CA.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<div></div><font size="2">While I can sympathize with you, I have to say that I definitely have not had the same problems as you.  If you're having some issues with some of your snares seemingly not working, let's see if we can figure out what the problem is.  If you'll read through some of the other posts, you'll see that a large majority of other rangers are extremely pleased with the way our snares are working now. 24 seconds is plenty of time.  Pull with a snare, immediately fire off your high damage bow arts, and most of the time the mob is dead or near death by the time it gets to you.  You didn't mention your level, your spell quality level, or the mobs level that you're engaging.  If you can provide that information, there's a lot of people on this board who can offer strats or advice to help you. I took legshot at master II and glad that I did. I kite heroics in SS, sometimes I duo with a healer but 48^^^ spiders and 50^^^ giants fall to my bow and snares solo.  We are not the only class that can solo ^^^ heroics now.  I dont want us nerfed but it should be public that the three arrow up are fair game to solos and duos if they are careful.  KIting Openers -Culling - Legshot - auto atk ranged on - triple fire - Foresters noose(melee snare) - back pedal - Legshot - Sharpshot -etc, etc.... -Alaulai 51 Ranger of Nektulos <div></div>

Hidden Shot/ Culling The Heard (backshot line) 2. Legshot 3. Triple Shot 4. Pedal backwards firing Crippling Arrow 5. Trap of the Hunter 6. Cheap Shot 7. Turn and run for 10 count. 8. Stop and fire every bow shot I have 9. Dead before I hit the 3rd shot always.</span><div></div>

I dunno, I wouldn't say they're useless, but I definitely notice some yellow solo mobs breaking snares almost immediately. Sometimes the mob dies before it gets to me, other times the procs don't happen and the snare breaks, and they arrive with more than half health. Still wishing they'd give us a little more consistency, despite being very happy with the revamp changes overall.

Jay42, I noticed that higher con mobs would resist/break more.  You just have to pick your mobs better.  At 50 kiting the 47^^^ taratulas is quite doable for decent XP, watch the adds, save your melee snare for when your bow snare breaks.  Howere the 51 raptors broke snares on me real easy.  Now at 51 I kite the 51^^^ raptors with no breaking issues, also the gnolls in SS the 50^^ are good kiting candidates. Conning white = snare sticks better is my experience. -Alaulai btw... auto atk does great dmg during kiting <div></div>

<DIV>Get thorny trap adept3.  You place a circle thing of thorns...pull mob over them instantly roots any encounter near it.  Then snares them doing like 900 in ae damage.  Pick the mobs off the root 1 at a time....  Only down side is 2min reuse.  Must be level 52, and must have a rare to make it.  Its our 52 ancient spell.  Root breaks doing high amounts of damage so keep that in mind.  Its quite easy to place a trap(can do it hidden), natural selection, and then storm of arrows usually all mobs die as they reach the trap its fun to watch.... I hope Rangers get more traps we can place its a blast <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>
