I was doing the splitpaw solo arena..which I usually have to mentor down the lowest so i can get past the phal something guy... and i still would die on the pit champion sometimes, now with the new patch i owned him and he was yellow to me... All i did was hidden shot from the furthest away and used trick shot before he could get to me then went all crazy melee style and used Cheapshot, hunt,Shadowlunge as much as i could <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> <div></div>

I must admit that i was owned in the arena pre-LU13, never made it past the 3rd guy, last night after group went to bed , i needed 3% more xp so went to split paw. We rock there, in the solo arena I was amazed how cheap shot, stacked poisons and snares devestated the mobs in conjuction with our other ca's the champ took me down to 25% the others hardly touched me. Got my rewards and Crowed. There is new life for rangers in all phases of this game now.

<DIV>Ok, how'd you do it? I was blasting through them up until the group of 3 double down yellows came out. I tried them twice, using different stances each time. Also tried kiting. Got owned.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>What level were you? What equipment did you have? What lvl were your CA's? What was your strategy (besides stealth/hidden shot, trick shot)?</DIV>

I'm a lvl 47 ranger and the first time I tried the arena... I owned Phosm, but got too cocky and the twins beat the crap out of me. The next evening I played it a bit smarter. I had two poisons stacked "touch of the rotbone" and "touch of the beholder" ( i LOVE this stun potion and rarely solo without it) I used my ring buffs (agility and strength) For buffs I believe I had up Arrow Frenzy and Veil of the Forest - for the twins i opened with hidden fire on one - and pretty much finished him off with triple fire - the next twin i used cheap shot and backed up and unleashed as many ranged attacks as i could - then meleed his last few hit points. The Champion was next and I proceeded with the same strategy - I used the same buffs, plus honed reflexes and feral instinct, then used hidden fire, triple shot (which pretty much always procs touch of the beholder) i unleash a couple more ranged attacks... use cheap shot add another ranged attack and then again use the next few combat art attacks to finish off his last few hitpoints - i ended up with 80 percent health at the end of the fight whereas before.. it was usually the other way round. for the set of three - i'd recommend taking out the dark elf first with hidden fire and triple fire - get rid of her and then proceed to cheap shot the dwarf and use crippling blade or culling the herd/leg shot etc - usually by then the little gnome is out of power and she's pretty easy to take down. <div></div>
