Has anyone done any stat comparisons since SOE up'd the mitigation of light armor. Every NPC Ranger I've seen, save for one out in Antonica wear Light. Is it just for visual or is there enough statisical benefit in one shape or another from wearing light that would deter one from choosing medium?

Any thoughts?

I'm wearing all medium. I've occasionally found a light piece that had 'close enough' AC and good enough stats to wear, but currently i'm wearing mostly feysteel brigandine, which has some wicked stat bonuses and great AC. I look pretty [Removed for Content], too

4 pieces of Ebon and the rest is Fulginate...except JBoots of course. You'd never catch me wearing Light or Very Light. I have pride.

I wore a set of Light Armour for just about the whole of my 30's. Pristine tailored etched set, I think it was... intended for Monks, but worked for me fine. I found that the AC wasn't that much different, the mitigation was the same, if not better, and the stats were good too. I had an enchanted thicket woven tunic as well for the late 30's. Maybe there aren't that many Rangers on Lavastorm (at least, I haven't run into many others), but I've never seen another one dressed the same way as me.

Still, now I've turned 40, I've invested in a set of fulginate chainmail. Just saving up for the imbued versions...

Well at 50, i have 2 sets of armor, i have a light/med set that enables me to get 302 agility self buffed more for fun than anything else as agil hardly does anything after 200, my main armor consitst of med and good jewelry for stamina str and agil. its better to try and get str agil and stam up to about 200 for max benefits..

With 302 agil i have a 68.7% avoidance, a guardian self buffed with 140 agil and a shield can also get nealry 70% avoidance..

I worked out for scout with about 1000 agil we would have just over 90% avoidance at current rates..

Anyhow try and keep agil to 200+ and raise Stam as much as possible for HP and str for little extra damage..

(This is not pristine player-crafted armor, it's all dropped pieces.) I found the breastplate, helm, and boots off of drops in EL and RoV, I bought the leggings for about 2.5g, and I bought the bracers for around 1.5g. I'm using enchanted grove sleeves and enchanted grove handguards, both from EL drops. I actually can't use the bracers til next level, but I have some Carnal Wristguards (yes, Carnal...I have no idea) that came off a drop in Zek.

The dark red, Persian-patterned armor isn't for everyone, but it looks *sweet* on my dark-gray kerran ranger. It's soooo nice to have a bit more unique look, and not be walking around looking like every other scout in AQ Trade Link or pristine carbonite chain. I'm usually about function over form, but I do enjoy having a character who looks sharp AND kicks tail.
