Is it my imagination or do I have a growing stack of fulginate arrows in my inventory now? I am 43, so don't have Tear yet. Anyone else notice this?

I think it is your imagination I've just checked my skills and Rip is still Feyiron and Tear is Fulginate. For the extra power usage there needs to be a reason to use Tear apart from a little extra damage. AFAIUI, the whole point about Tear was that we wanted it upgraded to give you Fulginate Arrows (which it now does) but Rip was always fine at Feyiron, although maybe it would be nice to get 2 arrows rather than 1 If you wanted Carbonite Arrows then you just used Makeshift Arrows. Having said that I'm going to go test Rip on some mobs once i can drag myself away from crafting in a second and see what it gives me. If it's Fulginate I'm going to be a bit upset with the devs getting it wrong yet again (although this latest *$%#&!-up would actually be beneficial to people)

Yeah, I noticed this too last night whilst out in Zek. I'd been soloing for a bit, so I'd gone through a lot of arrows and was just using Rip every time it came up to restock. Checked my inventory to see how I was doing, and when I moused over one stack, I saw they were fulginate. I'm only level 40, so don't have Tear yet either. Must've come from Rip. I do have Rip at Adept 1, but as far as I'm aware that should only increase the damage the hit does, not the kind of arrow.

Though... I'm not complaining about the fulginate ones...

Yeah - Adept1 Rip does 90 damage instead of App1 at 72. Still only 1 arrow though. Which poses another question: Is Rip Adept1 worth it? I guess if you are in a close fight and really need the extra 18 points of damage then yes. On the other hand, if it is a close fight, you will be better off using another attack instead of Rip.

Would be nice to get 2 arrows.

Kwent

Kwent is on point yet again. I mentioned this in another thread recently (and it was by no means an original thought there), but it does doesn't make sense to me that Rip and Tear only provide one arrow at a time. Each successive level should provide one more ARROW, not more damage! App2 = two arrows, App3 = 3, etc. Who's gonna cry if we get free arrows? All those woodworkers who make their living off selling crafted arrows? /sarcasm

guys, have any of you noticed that the type of arrow no longer determines damage when using special attacks? go ahead and try it..use a carbonite arrow then a torn fulg arrow. no difference. the only time they may matter is if you are using plain ranged attack. And any ranger standing in the back waiting for his single-arrow long bow attack to refresh is an idiot. The ONLY arrows that should fly from our bow is from a special attack. At all other times we should be in melee range for melee CAs.

it does when the arrow has a diff usage in the fight there are some mobs immune to piercing , so some player made arrows have crushing and slashing the tier of the arrow has no meaning now but rather the immunities of the mob as it always has

The arrow you get using Rip depends on the mob level in my experience. Using Rip in CT on mobs, most of which are 45+, i was getting fulginate. When using rip on lower level mobs in Ferrott, I was getting fayiron. So i think the mob level determines what type arrow you get.

Tear always gives fulginate.

Cirop

45 Ranger, Permafrost.

It seems like your archery skill level determines what type of arrow Rip produces. I hit level 40 last night, and when I was checking my bags for another stack of arrows to replenish my ammo slot with, I noticed a had a pile of 6 fulginate arrows. After doing some testing, I determined that Rip would only producing a fulginate when I had swindler's luck and primal reflexes up (this would set my archery to 220+, the equivalent of a level 44 when you receive Tear).
