<DIV>Hello guys, I play a lvl 31 Ranger on the Guk server. I have a question reguarding masters. I am starting to see some ranger master for sale on brokers. I snatched up rip as quickly as I saw it but have seen a few more over the last couple of days. I was wondering:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1. What masters do you have? And was it worth an investment or where you lucky enough to get it drop?</DIV> <DIV>2. What masters have you seen for sale?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I saw impede for sale and was really unsure if it was worth the investment. Thanks all in advance....</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV><p>Message Edited by Pridebringer on <span class=date_text>04-05-2005</span> <span class=time_text>07:12 AM</span>

The only Master skills that are worth buying in my opinion are the ones that do not get upgraded anymore. Although there are one or two , maybe three, skill lines that end at T2, T3, T4, it would mean that mostly the T5 skills are worth to get as master so far. Once they unlock higher levels and assuming the existing skill lines will be continued then, this is mood of course...

<DIV>I have Culling the Herd as Master and have Debilitating arrow waiting till I hit lvl 48(47 now).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'm very very happy with culling the herd especially since the patch which upped the ranged CA damage regardless of arrow type. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I had second thoughts on Debilitating arrow, but it's a shortish recast, decent damage plus a debuff so it should be ok.</DIV>

I got a Miracle Shot master in Zek the other day. Before, I would use it only in very specific situations to hit a mob I couldn't see.  Now the damage of the skill is actually worthwhile, and I use it in line with my other ranged damage attacks. But yes, I agree with the previous posters and would not pay any significant dough for a master spell that was going to be upgraded before 50. <div></div>

<P><FONT size=2>You upgraded Rip to Master1? Why? Does it provide a noticeable advantage? I ask b/c I was considering upgrading Rip the other day (to Adept1) and decided not to when I saw that going from App1 to Adept1 would only provide a marginal amount of extra damage. I don't really use Rip to do damage, I use it to gain arrows...so that particular upgrade seemed pretty worthless to me. </FONT><img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P>

I'm in favor of upgrades regardless..... I have read many posts which people state that there may not be increases in damage or buffs, but how often it hits and works as intended increases...... of course I can't really afford upgrades, so maybe I'm just blowing smoke <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

Yes I obtained Rip Master 1. I got it at lvl 31 so I had just obtained the skill and I have noticed a couple of nice things about the upgrade. I was getting resisted alot (no arrow no dmg) at app1, and getting resisted about 50% of the time on even or higher mobs with adept1. But now with master 1, rarely get resisted at all and now have arrows flowing everywhere in my inventory. I would say the 50gp investment was well worth it considering the skill never turns grey and Tear is over 10 lvls away. Mainly I was asking about other peoples exp with masters to find out what to look for as far as masters go. What people had seen or come across and how they liked it. I would tell you if you see Rip Master 1 and are in your 30's (if the price is reasonable) its a great addition. I would also like to thank whom ever it was in FP that listed that scroll at a more than reasonable price.

So you're in fine company if nothing else. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> But that said...I guess if you're in favor of potentially wasting your money, that's an individual's prerogative. I *want* to believe that there are some benefits (either obvious or invisible) associated with every skill upgrade, but there are too many broken things in this game for me to give it the benefit of the doubt and make an assumption that the 2-50 gold I'm spending will somehow be worth it. If I can't see hard proof of a clear advantage, I don't upgrade. Probably in the minority there, but I have to be frugal if I'm ever gonna get a pony. (Still less a flying carpet, yeesh. Stuff of dreams there.)</FONT></P> <P><FONT size=2>Good to hear that you're seeing clear benefits to the Master1 upgrade, though. Congrats on that find. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></FONT></P>
