<DIV>I just started playing the game and I'm interested in becoming a Bard > Troubador. However, there's only a few things that would make me dedicate myself to the class and I'd like to know:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1) If Troubador's instruments are actually visible - meaning if they're equipped, will there be a physical graphic of my guy carrying around an instrument? I can't see myself playing this class if I don't get to see him actually play the songs.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>2) My friend has been telling me about EQ1 and how difficult it was to play as a Bard. Is it the same in EQ2? He mentioned twisting and how it worked and its scaring me away a little bit. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks in advance for your answers.</DIV> <P><SPAN class=time_text></SPAN> </P><p>Message Edited by Stellus on <span class=date_text>03-29-2005</span> <span class=time_text>01:54 AM</span>

1) sadly there are no instruments ingame <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> some songs use instruments in their animation, but there are no equipable instruments2) twisting doesn't work in eq2, songs have no lasting effect after they have been disabled. after some patches most songs last 15 mins, what's enough for most fights. i don't think playing a bard isn't that difficult. you have to figure out what buffs are the best for some situation, how you do some decent damage (if at all) and when it comes to soloing you face the same problem as all scouts... stun and run ^^

EQ1 bards were so much fun because they were so different from every other class.  But a small handful of people complained, I guess about the twisting thing, so now EQ2 bards are basically a caster class.  *yawn* </span><div></div>

I take it that the Tamborine is an EQ1 item? <div></div>

We pull it out of our... well, you figure it out... and play it then put it back from whence it came.  Usually there will be an accompanying spell effect showing notes floating up around us.  The drum animations like Elise's Ditty actually have a decent representation of hand drum sounds too. When we cast, we get a ring of musical notes that move around our feet.  <div></div>

Alright, well I suppose it's not as bad if there's an actual animation of us pulling an instrument out and playing it. This revives a little bit of my interest in playing the class.
