<DIV>Hi All a few quick questions for you who have played the game:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I am a long time PvPer (but a horrible one- I just like the thrill of losing to humans rather than computer generated mobs), but <FONT color=#ffffff>also a soloer. My ideal game was the original version of Asheron's Call.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ffffff></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ffffff>So I am looking for a class that can solo in both acheiving levels and not just get killed by gank groups time and again.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ffffff></FONT> </DIV> <DIV> <P><SPAN><FONT color=#ffffff>I tend to like melee or rogue classes over mages but I made the mistake of playing on DAOC’s pvp server as a Warrior- and it wasn’t a lot of fun to solo, so that is my fear here.<SPAN> </SPAN>I used to play a Guardian back in my original EQ2 days and liked it plenty- but I had a guild then and more time to find a group.</FONT></SPAN></P> <P><SPAN><FONT color=#ffffff></FONT></SPAN> </P> <P><SPAN><FONT color=#ffffff>I really am looking for a class where I can hop in, play 45 minutes to an hour a night and have fun.<SPAN> </SPAN>Very limited time- so I need to solo- I remember waiting around for a while to get a guild group- and I just don't have the time for that anymore (stupid real life priorities!).</FONT></SPAN></P></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ffffff></FONT> </DIV> <DIV>Is there a class- rogue, cleric, or melee type that could fit my needs? Or am I trying to put a square peg in a round hole by playing EQ2? The only game that I have played that really let me do this was AC1, and I am just hoping for a similar thing here- reading the different expansion packs describing solo play gave me some hope.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I made a Brigand last night- and he is fun so far. I just dont want to get attached and find out he is really bad solo when trying to level, or really bad solo when walking around in the pvp world.</DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ffffff></FONT> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

Brigand - Excellent at soloing/grouping/raiding.At PvP, I'd guess they're fantastic, but I don't touch PvP. <div></div>

monk, bruiser, swashbuckler, brigand, maybe even assassin and rangeri think those are the ones you might like. to be honest though, you'll have to check them all out to know which you'll really like.but, yes, brigand sounds like a class that could fit your needs. you will need to learn the intricate dance of soloing with a brigand though. it's no easier as any other scout.<div></div>

<DIV>Sorry for the hijack <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>IM like the OP in the fact that I perfer a melee class over a mage, but in general with any scout class are you limited to soloing even cons with no arrows and down? Seemed when i played my ranger (still looking for a main to take past lvl 30) that I would get spanked if they were more than 1 or if there was more than 1 or two adds and the group wasnt green or double down.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So what type of mobs should a brig or any melee type soloer be looking to attack in between quest mobs?</DIV>

<div></div>please note that the previous poster's brigand is level 65.you'll find that you get tougher in the higher levels and your expanded repertoire of attacks (you get some of the best between 50 and 5<img src="/smilies/b2eb59423fbf5fa39342041237025880.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> will allow you to kill meaner things than you've become used to.up to there, i'd stick with the solo mobs. the trick is to use your stuns and then jump over / run around the enemy to get behind it and use all of your back attacks, roll your heroic opportunity a lot at the lower levels, shift the extra time if you need to to get that ringing blow finisher, and try using both stances to see which works best for you. usually i solo better in my defensive stance.<div></div><p>Message Edited by Crimson Dragon on <span class=date_text>09-22-2006</span> <span class=time_text>08:02 AM</span>

<DIV>On the brigand I've been able to handle yellows up to arrowless since my early twenties. Not sure when ^ mobs became easy.</DIV>

Yeah at first i was told that most chars become more defined in their mid 20s but after 2 lvl 25+ chars they didnt really seem to different than other classes in the same archtype i guess i need to stick it out a bit more and see if it changes. I kinda like the sk right now but im thinking of taking a shot at brigand since they seem to be needed in raids.
