<DIV>anyone have a number on the DR of the Shadowaqxe with max AA's in STR/WIS or STR/AGI ? just looking for  a round about number  to see where it  is . i finally got one and am currently still using qeynos cutlass / dirk of the nightfall with STR/AGI build . ive made post before on this topic and never really got a true answer. im usually at 75% or better DPS mod and 50% or better haste in raid setup. im always in the top 5 on raid parse .</DIV>

<P>All you can really say is that the 81 DR shadowaxe is about the same quality as ~116 combined DR Dual-wields. (81 / ~0.7) If what your using now has higher DR then 116, then technically the shadowaxe will be a downgrade, so you'll be less likely to see any benefit from using it and respeccing. Procs also come in to it, since I've noticed they can make up a good 3-5% of my damage. Compare this to STR or WIS  damage boost AAs which add some 6-10% to your damage total and it is quite possible to lose DPS by switching to another weapon with the same DR but without a proc for example.</P> <P>Whether you'll do more damage or not with it compared to what you have now it's pretty much impossible to say concreetely. You can just guess, If your auto-attack is currently at or more then say 35 or 40% of your damage, then you'll probably do better with WIS/STR, but there's no guarantee.</P><p>Message Edited by Rokjin on <span class=date_text>09-05-2006</span> <span class=time_text>12:46 PM</span>

I don't know of any informed Brigand that would use Shadow Axe on a Str/Agi build.<div></div>

<DIV>Not to question your awesome mathimatical guru skills Rok, but isn't the double attack formula (DR * 100%+Double attack %)?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Assuming double attack is maxed:</DIV> <DIV>81 * 1.72 = 139~ DR</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'm not trying to be a [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn],  read all your math writ-ups and love em. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV>Just wanna help the OP make the best decision possible.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>edit:  in response to OP</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I currently use a shadow axe with the str/wis spec.  I really enjoy it.  I played with dual wield for a bit since then, but ended up going back because i found i parsed better.  If your well buffed, the reasonable delay on the shadow axe will only help for procs and the like.  This of course all depends on what type of set up your currently running.  If you have some very good DW'ers, there may be no real difference, besides preference.</DIV><p>Message Edited by Mjollnyr on <span class=date_text>09-07-2006</span> <span class=time_text>08:47 AM</span>

<DIV>In theory that is true, but there is no way of determing how much DR Avast Ye gives you.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>DR is only designed to be a number to compare weapons in quality. Using it for anything else is not a good idea.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thus I only use it to compare weapon qualities.. with 1 Handers doing 70% the damage of DW... So to compare a 1H to two dual-wields, you divide it's DR by 0.7 to get it's 'equivalent DW DR'.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Since Double Attack only boosts auto-attack damage, while Blackguard's Luck boosts both auto-attack and CA damage, and Avast Ye boosts damage by giving you an additional proc, you can't really make comparisons between the lines without looking at overall DPS. Invoking DR to try and compare things would be meaningless.</DIV> <P>Also, slower weapons do not help with procs. Every weapon is normalized to 3 second delay, period. The only difference weapon speed makes is in timing CAs and a few CAs/spells that are guaranteed procs.</P>
