brigs get plenty of frontal attacks, but they deal more damage from behind

get yourselve a good rond shield and go down the sta aa line

-hp, miti, avoidance, grp tount and aggro increasing buff

by using your stunns(/roots^^) its still possible to fire most/all of the must be behind cas (if not you could still invest a few points in walk the plank)

brigands are quite good tanks without the sta aa line (know a brig on my server tanking hof)

Message Edited by UNTILitSLEEPS on 05-11-2006 02:52 AM

I love my Brigand, but to me it comes down to PvE or PvP. If you're on a PvP server I'd go Brigand, because they get tracking, which is phenomenal in PvP. If you're not on a PvP server, I'd recommend trying a new class entirely, get a fresh approach. Bruisers do great damage and are true light-tanks. Monks are a little bit more Tankish and ATM they seem to do more damage too. If you're bored of your Dirge, a Brigand may not be fresh enough to hold your interest ... though IMHO a Brigand is the most interesting class that exists, tracking, evac, stealth, group stealth, debuffs to juggle, positional attacks to juggle, the validity of both stances, etc.

I play a Dirge as well and picked up a Brigand toon.

I am able to tank equally as well with the Dirge as I am with the Brigand. I do have to say that holding agro is a little more elementary and easier to figure out with a Brigand. I tank quite often in the group I play with and with the Ruse line of spells I find it very difficult to lose agro unless I want to. Think of it as casting the hate buff on yourself as a Dirge.

That being said, get a Dirge in your group with you and you'll probably let them tank.
