Now, i'm a newer raiding Brigand, I hit level 50 in SS, I was level 42 when DoF came out. I've never raided without AR before, so when I heard it was nerfed into uselessness I was very [Removed for Content]. But after a raid on Uzyrd the Undying today, my oppinion differs slightly, as I only died 1 more time than I should have (1 wipe due to nuke happy wizzies , and I died once in the AE when I was pushing it with jousting). My DPS was obviously terrible because I couldn't sit in AE range for long before AR broke, but I did the main part of what a raiding Brigand needs to do, debuff like mad, very well. I tried to dispell his damage shield but unfortunatly chasten dosn't seem to work on dispelling epics.

It still needs some love though, imo:

A) Remove hate gain

B) Make it so Amazing Reflexes has a fixed % chance to break on action against you, app2 would be about 50%, M1 would be about 10%.

We did kill him, and I'm very happy with my new chestpiece and 15% AAxp I got from him.

Message Edited by The-Fourm-Pirate on 03-12-200604:05 PM

*** Combat ***

Brigand changes:- Double Up now makes use of the quality tier of the duplicated spell. Upgrades to Double Up improve its overall effectiveness, and using upgraded versions of duplicated spells will allow abilities of the same line to be used.- Amazing Reflexes will not automatically remove itself when damage is received. Instead, the AOE avoidance effect is disabled for 30 seconds.

That was taken from Test Update notes for live update 21b. I just hope it goes live.

Given they didn't even implement the first change, I am definitely not holding my breath on the second. I'll be happy if it goes through, but sheesh! How many hotfixes have we had since KoS released, and it's still broken / unchanged? Good grief!
Message Edited by agra on 03-13-200611:11 AM

I'm glad to hear something positive about post-change AR.

I saw the prospective LU#21 patch notes earlier...

- Amazing Reflexes will not automatically remove itself when damage is received. Instead, the AOE avoidance effect is disabled for 30 seconds.

The change to AR obviously isn't drastic (just means you don't have to manually toggle it on if it breaks), but it got me thinking: if the AR icon stays up after you take damage, how the heck are you going to know when the AE immunity is active again? Also, there's a chance that you might overlook some incoming damage and not realise the AE immunity has been broken because the icon is still up.

Will it have a permanent maintained buff icon and a secondary AE immunity icon that toggles on and off?

Just throwing that out there for consideration before it goes live, in case it's not caught on test.

That's an excellent question. Does anyone play on test who can comment on this? Does the icon stay the same? Stay up all the time? How can we tell if we have AE immunity or not?I browsed around briefly to see if I could find out how to copy my character to test but didn't find anything. I'll admit I didn't look for all that long. All the same if anyone knows the answer to that and can post I'd appreciate that as well.

the icon stays up and stays green, however a second icon that looks the same, but is red, appears when you take damage. when it is gone, ar is normal.

on a side note...personally I love the hate gain on ar..I purposefully leave mine at app 4. On numerous occasions the hate gain has saved a healer. it also makes it easier for me to tank when a good tank is not available. It is a bit annoying for raiding purposes, but is overall more useful to me than not.

64 nearly 65 brigand on test. Discontinued, if you really want to ask questions.

Maybe take the hate gain and put it on our defense stance?
