I'm losing my mind. I'm trying to go Wis with just enough Agi to Walk the Plank since I mostly solo.Is there really no decent 'rapier' qualifying weapon in this range?The first thing I can find that's even remotely close is the SwiftWhisper which requires level 56 and the death of an epic raid mob. Help.Thanks!

I'd take that if I could. But the Cobalt Rapier is Dual Wield, and the Flamberge is listed as a great sword, unusable by scouts.[weep]

Look for a 'karabela'. It's the 1H Rapier weapon type that was added in the crafting revamp.

There is also an Ancient Velium Rapier which has very nice stats. If memory serves... 20 Str, 20 Agi, 10 Sta, x Health, y Power, 7% @ 191 cold proc, ~72 DR.Very nice and is dropped in DT.

Message Edited by Earl_Of_Bronze on 08-04-2006 06:54 AM

Strange, the Karabela is a dual wield on lower tiers with my weaponsmith. Pre tradeskill changes, a cobalt Cutlass was a one handed rapier class weapon. May want to search for 'cutlass' to find dropped one handers.Might be tough to find a good one though. But if you can struggle up to your 60s, the Doomrage Blade is a great looking cutlass style one handed rapier that will serve you well and isnt too expensive. Strangely its also the only slashing rapier class weapon I've ever seen. You may want to do what I did, and focus on the Wisdom line now and shift to the Agility line once you get your level up to better rapiers. Its not a rapier, but the Blade of the Bixies is a great weapon for the wisdom line til then and will help get your slashing skill up for the Doomrage.

I'll tell you my secret to using Walk the Plank...shh..

My main weapon is a 1 hander axe. What I do is this.....

I've got about 3 weapons on my hotkeys, 1 being my axe, another being my rapier and another being my whip (don't ask). If I need to use walk the plan, I hit the icon of my rapier, use my walk the plan ability, then click on my axe icon. By the time the walk the plan ability has been used you can usually re-equip your regular one hander so you don't loose stats, or whatever. Hope this helps!

Message Edited by Krontak on 08-04-2006 08:49 AM

it's even better if you dump the crappy agi line and go for str

Str = crits galore! :p

Thanks for the advice guys.I agree on STR if I grouped more. Right now I'm a bad citizen and am strictly soloing (We had a baby recently so I tend to play for 20 and 30 minute chunks of time that are easily interrupted. ).It looks like 1h Rapier situations become better around level 60. Until then, I guess I'll keep Dual Wielding.It looks like the Karbala (spelling?) may be 1h or DW - I haven't seen a cobolt one yet. The 40 is DW, the 60 is 1h. With my luck I expect the 50/52 to be DW. Does STR really 'crit galore'? I haven't been able how to read the message. If my ability to crit was 5% and I get the 'Increases by 10% [for example]', does that mean my chance to crit goes to 15%, or 5.5%. I was assuming the worst and guessing the latter. Alloca
Message Edited by Delphar7 on 08-07-2006 05:37 PM

Base crit rate is 1%.

So +13.9% to crit gives you a total of 14.9% crit.

There is no way to see your crit percentage.

Several UI's have wonderful custom interfaces that can give you info at a glance try http://www.eq2interface.com for some.I myself use ProfitUI, makes life easier in raids where I quickly can see my regen, resists, dps/haste mods so I can decide how I want to push my CA's to max my effectiveness, etc.Also, the site has loads of wonderful mods you can add yourself and such

I happen to be using thorui, because of the auto update program. The extra details are shown on the stat page. The tools to see these values were added in in lu24 or 25, so I'm sure most of the ui modders have added them in by now.
