<DIV>Back in November of 2003, I asked the fellow monks at Monkly-business a math question.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I had been playing EQlive since the first week it came out.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I asked for them to calculate how much time had passed *IF* The servers had *NEVER* ever been brought down for a patch or a server crash.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>How much time had continuously passed if there was never any downtime of the server.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Seeing that 72 minutes = 1 EQ day, we calculated that approximately 197 years had passed since EQ first started.. give or take 20 years. I'm really horrible at math, so I'm not gonna go through the calculations again right now.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Of course, that was back in 2003, so obviously it'd be much more than that now.</DIV>

<DIV>Thank you for that. lol I became obssessed a while back trying to figure out  how old Irish was... My husband made her for me  march 7th 2002....</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>maybe this is easiar..... what Day did the shadows of Luclin become live?   Jason was playing EQ  in 2001 I told himto log in Kalaa  his first Character when he is done with his  term paper to see when she was made then  he got Luclin I think four days earliar... you know what SOE needs to do? they need to make a Lore book. all the way up to  EQ one.. but here is the thing. EQ one is livingin the times before the  war hits good.. I was in bed with a sever migrine for five days. the last night of the migrine FV was attacked and took over by evil.  When I logged in the next morning to tell my guild where I had been  I was getting tells left and right to get Rezs... lol no  one told me that FV was now EVIL ....lol I rezzed  my guild memebers and got out of there fast...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The only thing that is bad about the world changing is the newer people that comes to EQ1 they buy the maps and books all saying FV is good. lol boy won't they be surprised lol  hince way I think SOE should make a book like this.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>You all do a [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] good job on this site... hell when I started to play EQ2 it was hard for me to see Luclin  like that so I went back to EQ1 jsut to "see" it in  one piece... I had no clue that moon was not Luclin... I found that out the other day playing with a few  new friends in TS.   I asked them if they saw another moon..lol my husband can not see it on his computer for some reason so I thought it was a glitch  in my graphics.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>any way I babble alot so I will cut it short....er... lol</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>so If I can take the time Luclin came out and then take the month in Real Life time  I was made I might have a round about date how old she is. I created another    IrishHealer on EQ2. Sanaria is IrishHealer's (from EQ1) child. but hubby talked me in to deleting her and moving to another server and I made Irish on ther and I have a Sanaria... Sanari was Irish Healer's twin sister ( a ENC) on EQ1 and I made it where Irish named Sanari after her sister... I wantt o write a little history abotu  my character for  game play as I liek to role play  but I want their ages lol  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I thank you all for any time you take to help me in this manner like I said you all rock on this site </DIV>

<DIV>I believe that Luclin came out on December 21st. I remember Sony making a bit of a deal about shipping it just in time for X-mas.</DIV>

<P>Just a little FYI:</P> <P> </P> <DIV><SPAN class=postbody>I have seen many players laboring under the mis-informed notion that the "Shattering" occured 500 years ago and it was that event which resulted in the Age of Cataclysms which has lasted for the past 500 years.</SPAN></DIV> <DIV><SPAN class=postbody><STRONG></STRONG></SPAN> </DIV> <DIV><SPAN class=postbody>In point of fact, the "Shattering" occured 12-15 years ago!!  Putting this occurance into it's proper time frame, along with some demographics has a VERY large impact on the backgrounds which players construct for their characters.</SPAN></DIV> <DIV><SPAN class=postbody><STRONG></STRONG></SPAN> </DIV> <DIV><SPAN class=postbody>Just to give a little bit of reference data for those who may be unaware of it:<BR><BR><SPAN>A few facts:<BR><BR>EQ-1 was set (approximately) 500 years in the past.<BR><BR>The "Shattering" of Luclin happened recently; within the last 12-15 years;  at the most, the last 15-20 years!  [12-15 years from an Elf's time frame is more like what we would think of as 1-3 years!]<BR><BR>Most, [not necessarily all], characters in the game are assumed to be young adults. He would have been born approximately 100-150 years ago, when his parents were (about) 150-200 years old. This means that a character's parents would have been born roughly 300-350 years ago. (still long after the time of EQ-1)<BR>A character's grandparents would have been young adults or children around the time of EQ-1. EQ-1 was in the prime of a character's great grandparents.<BR><BR>For a Fier 'Dal, EQ-1 may have reached back to the time of his great great grandparents.<BR><BR>The Ayr 'Dal might have to go back 15 or 20 generations to reach EQ-1; </SPAN></DIV> <DIV><SPAN class=postbody></SPAN> </DIV> <DIV><SPAN class=postbody>and a Human perhaps 25 generations.<BR><BR>[I THINK my math is ok, but correct me if I am wrong.]<BR></SPAN></DIV> <p>Message Edited by Mary the Prophetess on <span class=date_text>04-06-2005</span> <span class=time_text>12:56 PM</span>

<DIV>That age chart isn't exactly canon. For starters, It doesn't include Frogloks.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>2nd, the Destruction of Luclin has been stated by numerous NPC's in the game that it happened roughly 15 years ago.</DIV>

<DIV>I just explain it away as that basicly the fabric of the Norrath universe is such that because of the Age of Discord, something happens which litterly pauses time in the scientific sense.  Things remain in a state of unending cycles.  Like that movie groundhog day.  No one really stays dead.  Nothing can change until an EVENT happens.  When that event Happens time unsticks for a period and moves forward in a lurch.  Then pauses again until the next EVENT.  Days pass, their is a sense of time passing but nothing changes.  Individuals or hero's can change but everything around them remains the same.  More or less.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Oh and your only as old as you feel</DIV>
